Thanks, Peter.  I’m pretty sure it’s not the horn button, that is one of the things that had to be replaced to get the thing inspected.  So I am going to disconnect the wires from the button, reconnect the horn, and see what happens.  Then I will go from there.

Well, I checked the main pulley and it doesn’t budge but the breather tube was plugged up with a piece of a wooden dowel.  I removed that to see what happens next.

you might have more luck on the samba.although I seem to remember kits that used Pontiac fieros as a starting point

ceramic coated mufflers & exhaust pipes keep the heat in, also they last longer

don’t think of wiring as 1 big system. do one circuit at a time,you’ll be fine

due to state inspection laws. lexan or tempered glass would be illegal for state inspection. I’m calling my hot rod buddies & get a shop that has done that style before
