David, I agree with everyone, Fiberfab. I feel I am looking at my Fiberfab. Same headlight mounts, minor body differences. Like Larry said, your fenders are slightly narrower, yet they are out slightly further from the engine enclosure than mine. Beautiful automobile.

The way I play golf, the iron WILL do a better job on the car.
Very good idea Greg. -
James Cochran replied to the topic KwikLift car lift question in the forum General Discussion 15 years, 9 months ago
I didn’t think of the shelf aspect. I usually keep my tools under the creeper so I can’t find them when I need them
. I did install a magnetic knife rack to the creeper and my tools snap to the 12″ long magnet and I keep nuts and bolts on the magnet as a holding area. Harbor Freight has the wrist magnetic band that works fairly well for nuts and…[Read more]

James Cochran replied to the topic KwikLift car lift question in the forum General Discussion 15 years, 9 months ago
I agree about the mechanicals of the lift being in the way, but I do like the lift. It is nice that the car sits as it would on the road, springs and shocks depressed, etc. that could come in handy for certain things. It would have been nice when the top nut on my rear shocks was loose and could only be detected if on a lift like this one. Keep…[Read more]

Very nice replica
. I had investigated an electric conversion, but then figured that I would have to add a recording of the sports car engine sounds that I love to hear. I have driven an electric and was extremely impressed with the instant performance, but I was bothered by the total silence when stopped and the whine upon giving it the gas…[Read more]

James Cochran replied to the topic Seeking steel wheels vs. Wire wheel cover in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 15 years, 10 months ago
Paul,You’re right. I confused Bill’s car with another. Now I can’t remember the other car since I had it in my mind that it was Bill’s
. I assume the original MGTD steel wheels were four lug, perhaps the measurements could work, but probably not. I don’t recall ever seeing an original TD without the hubcaps.James

James Cochran replied to the topic Seeking steel wheels vs. Wire wheel cover in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 15 years, 10 months ago
Bob,
I always tend to hit ebay and Craigslist. Since the postings run for a while I check them once a week until I find what I am looking for. I am sure Moss has the MG hubcaps, but they probably will not mount correctly. Bill Collins recently sold his baby and I believe he had the ‘original’ steel wheels. You may want to send him a private…[Read more] -

Very nice, great message. I will pass this along for sure.
Everyone, please visit the forum topic about Adverse Conditions. Paul’s daughter, Lauren, has done a great job. Especially as we move into fall, it is a message of great importance and a reminder of the hazards of the road ahead. Whether you live in Florida or New Jersey, her message…[Read more] -

AHA, I see what you mean. I get the same deal….blank screen. What if you uploaded a picture in a thread and then deleted the message from the thread….would the image stay in the gallery? Like going in the back door.
I can’t get past a blank screen, like Mel. I don’t get far enough for it to tell me incorrect format. Gil, you get farther…[Read more] -

Mel and Gil,
I use the button on the top row that is a tree icon with an up arrow. Is that the same you are using? Mine works fine, which is unusual for my computer
Clicking the button gives me a directory of my computer to find and locate the image file to upload. But, like Gil said, I use a thread to do it, and like magic it shows up in my…[Read more] -
James Cochran replied to the topic Format in the forum Site Input and Issues 15 years, 10 months ago
Larry,
Technology is a moving target, about the time I think I have it in view, then it’s moved on, and it out runs me wee brain.
I did a test and a width of 243 pixels seemed to work fine. -
James Cochran replied to the topic Format in the forum Site Input and Issues 15 years, 10 months ago
If anyone does discover the size, please let us know. Does anyone know how to delete some, but not all of our own photos in the photo gallery? I have some duplicates and other photos that I need to purge, but don’t know how. There is a delete photos button, but I am afraid to press that button until I know what it does.
For the registry graphic I…[Read more]

I host five website forums and it seems shortly after the economic situation struck us, we have been getting hit all the time from spammers and off-topic postings with links to some not-so-good sites. One of my forum’s memberships jumped from a little over 200 to over 3500 within six weeks, most of the messages were adult rated and a great many…[Read more]

Good point! I think I’ll give the kid a hand if he installs a different system than the stock one.
I don’t understand why he was doing it himself on the Jeep when they have so much money. But that worked out for me
Saturday I’ll have a hitch installed so I can drag my TD replica on the longer road trips. -

Ktro95,
Take a look in the photo gallery of this forum. I have a drawing of the top bow set for my Fiberfab made from aluminum tubing. That may help with that part. My new factory top fit the bows perfectly.

You must be very proud of these two fine young ladies. They did a wonderful job. I have passed the link around the office. Are you sure she’s your daughter? She’s beautiful …. must take after her mom.
I think they should get extra bonus credit in driver’s ed. Thanks for letting us know, this is a very important message by some wonderful…[Read more] -

Hey DickH,
It was my engine that locked up, but not anymore. It’s still a mystery as to why. I was under the engine, with the pan removed, it was locked up tight as can be, no way it would turn. I laid there staring at it, reached up again to turn the crank just for fun, and it turned just a freely as can be, the pistons just glided up and down,…[Read more] -
James Cochran replied to the topic found a nice inexpensive radio in the forum General Discussion 15 years, 11 months ago
Mel,
Great find. I just recently got a radio for my baby, but not as good a deal as you got. Paid $179 and the only difference is the entire radio slips out of the mount to use in the house ( I’ll probably never use that feature) and it’s not retro. Also mine does not have the card reader, bummer. Thanks for letting know about this, appears to be…[Read more]

Thanks 1oldbuzz. Sounds like an excellent deal for someone. The 37 Jag reminds me of our TD’s in a larger format. I have seen some with huge headlights and some with TD sized headlights. Cool automobile.
