I didn’t see anyone reference marine fiberglass rubbing compound. I bought an unassembled kit with the fenders and small fg parts still wrapped and looking like the day they were shipped. The body was oxidized after 30? years of exposure. Compound got it back to a close enough match. ie midnight in a light mist. You might wait for other comments,…[Read more]

Allen, people that know me are surprised that I would take on a project that requires some mechanical skill. They don’t know the depth of my resources. Thank you for the detail in your drawing and for the progress photos of Moneypenny in fotki. Although I’m not there yet I am already thinking about cutting fiberglass. I have downloaded or read the…[Read more]

sorry to be so long getting back. My mobile is 289 439 5322. I have the smaller U bracket that comes up from the wishbone. to meet the larger missing one, that is fastened just ahead of the shocks. I had downloaded both FF & CMC manuals but on suggestion downloaded Classic Roadster as well. Very good instructions on pedal and shifter relocate but also clear list of what to pull of donor body. i.e. wiper motor assy.

I purchased a bug restored in 2006 with a 72 body 68 pan and 70 1.6 engine. Excellent runner, showed my son how to drive a standard before I removed and sold the body. Bought a FF/CMC kit from the early 90’s? that was basically untouched. Fairly complete other than main rear angle iron frame, seat boxes, some gauges and almost no hardware. Next I…[Read more]

Hi all I just bought this kit. Haven’t taken delivery yet but soon I hope. Have 1968 chassis and 71 1600 engine. Any tips will be appreciated, especially concerning camber reduction or any other suspension management that will keep it stable. Thanks in advance.
