 Ed. On my VWbased car ,the cable connects directly to the VDO speedometer without an adapter. When the speedometer ”broke” on the car I recently sold [also VW  –VDO] I was able to fit the ”works from a VW speedometer into the VDO case. The same cable that fit the VDO also fit the VW speedometer.

 dbrock, Looks like your car is a candidate to use the MG type wiper  mounted to the top of the windshield frame. See Deerebills gallery to check out how he did this. A streetrod  parts supplier can supply the parts. Without the dimples on the cowl , I don’t know how it would be possible to use the VW wiper system.

 Ed, It’s hard to see the exact condition from the small pictures,but it sure is tempting to investigate further.What am I talking about?One more would be nice but just not possible.

 Paul, What is an alphanumeric character?  I have tried using a combination of capital and lower case letters along with numbers but it always changes the capital letters to lower case and shows the user name as invalid. Every thing about the application works except the user name.
