Yep, got to be Allison. Easy to compare to others, even the can-shaped taillights.
Definitely not a real MG just by seeing the unvented front where engine would have been.Asking probably double it’s actual value, although I’ve seen some kit/replica TD’s with prices almost like this one. -

Since I want to get one of your calendars I’ve got a suggestion if you’re taking any.
Hoping you can make at least one page a montage of all or other photos so I can use that to show on a wall after the year is past.Just an idea, it’s your project! -

Hmm. Now that I’ve been looking at ways to go about this bookmarking thing I noticed for the first time the topic options list (gear button) above the messages. Has a Watch Topic in there, and unfortunately when I tried to see it a web page stating “null” etc. showed up instead.
Maybe that’s a way without browser bookmarking. I seldom take… -

Can’t say about Hagerty but State Farm used year of donor VW chassis and MG TD as make and model. Unfortunately I have no idea if that’s the usual way. You’re sure to get more responses on the subject anyhow.

Heck. I read about this before and was going to do it too, weather got me down I guess. After a few rainy days it just looked “dreary” (actual word for weather today used on TV). Was really a big improvement to have the rain stop but somehow wasn’t enough for me to think about driving the old car. I will try for Thursday before the bad weekend…[Read more]

Oh, and I was finally going to get that badge from the store link. I know it had Paypal button before, so if that’s not going to be used anymore I will send mail order instead.
Thanks from me, too, for this site and the work done to keep it going. -

Wish I knew more about VW’s than the tiny bit I’ve learned this year. I looked for pictures of wheels and almost all, except one I found, were not like you describe. And I’m not sure this one is really like yours either, but does seem to have a sharp transition where the others are simply…[Read more]

Thanks Roy, had read a bit of that before, although not into the link about the different type latch mechanism from what I have.

Ditto that about pictures…Only a guess but VW Beetle brake drums, and maybe other parts, from 1968-77 should be same if you find out it’s not before 1968.
For comparison you could try a look at:http://www.jbugs.com/category/vw-bug-super-beetle-brakes-parts.html?gclid=CO3Bwq-V88gCFcUlgQodo40A8QLRH2015-11-02 21:18:13

Bob replied to the topic Alternator help needed in the forum TD Replicas 9 years, 9 months ago
Ah, ok, you probably need to do Ohm (resistance) check on the wires if alternator shows 14+ at the output wire to ground.
If not good output it might be the built-in VR.Or as others said already the belt could be loose but you’ve no doubt looked at that by now. -

Well, the track run looked fun if not for the trouble. The wide view videos sure make me nervous, can’t see those orange cones until their close. Would hate to try and drive with my vision actually like that, and bouncy too!
A few weeks ago after a car show along railroad tracks I heard a knocking sound while driving back home. At first thought it… -
Bob replied to the topic Alternator help needed in the forum TD Replicas 9 years, 9 months ago
oops, I see now, missed your 2nd message about it failing to charge. And I made a huge mistake by thinking your “B+” was short for the battery post itself, not alternator output! (slap on head).
So let me get this right please. Was voltage checked at the alternator B+ to ground found to be low, or battery equivalent of around 12.6 Volts or so?If it… -

As much as I like all 3 of those I still love the lines of the MG more.
Must be great to choose a drive between them anytime. I’ve thought about adding a pair of flexible exhaust pipes either under or over the front fenders. Just not sure how that would look as a 4-cylinder front engine, especially when there isn’t even one there in mine. - Load More
