Newkitman, just saw your post. I have a fiberfab and Paul was right about that number being the serial number. I have a brass tag about 3 x 4 inches on mine mounted to the dash by the original builder. I suspect it should have been mounted to the firewall. Keith i have seen that conversion too.i also have a fiberfab, but the handbrake is in the normal position and awkward to reach. i would be interested to find out what they do. it seems like i read this was done standard in the Lafer.

Thanks for the ideas and photos guys.
I like the idea of removing the trunk/engine cover by installing the hatch hinges. They make a slick and quick removal for access and i think they look great.

Bill the powder coat looks great. I do admire the way your whole engine cover comes off so you can get to the workings. I have the same T handle catches on mine, but what are the catches on the back of the cover?
