Trusty admin here again…
I’m going to throw a yellow flag on this one also.
I’m not a scientist, but a dead battery is a dead battery.
The link above is to an infomercial at ezbetteryreconditioning.com.
When I dig some digging, one of the things I learned is if you buy Mr. Tom Ericson’s book, you also buy into the opportunity to license his…[Read more]

Hi guys.
One of your trusty admins here.
Please be careful. I did a little digging on safe-vehicle.com, which is the web site hidden behind the tiny url hary1232 posted above. the results are not good, and if I were in need a a vehicle report, I would not use safe-vehicle.com
Here is what I was able to determine:
The website presents itself as…[Read more]

Hi Rex,
My response is based on instinct, with no science involved.
The curved sections you are talking about modifying flare out into the arms that support the transaxle and engine.
I would be very hesitant to cut much out of it, even if you are welding in replacement steel.
A picture being worth a thousand words, you can see how it all ties…[Read more]

Saw this a bit late Bill. but thank you for the offer. I’m still not able to drive, so even if I saw it on time, I would have had to decline.
Looking forward to the pictures and stories from the weekend!

To add just a bit to Ed’s comment.
On a stock (or reproduction) TD grill shell, there are narrow rectangular holes on each side. The bar Ed refers to goes through those holes (with a form fit rubber grommet) and provides a mounting point for the internal end of the headlight bracket.

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Replacement top in the forum MGTD Kit Cars 7 years, 9 months ago
Not a bad idea Rick. And sounds like more fun than the punch. But… a 357 will leave a hole that is far too large. The female snaps will pull through the top material. You’ll have to go to a much smaller caliber. 😉

Bob,
Snaps are an easy install.
You need one of these to punch the holes: https://www.amazon.com/Revolving-including-Screwdriver-Grinding-Saddle/dp/B06XRDBGY6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1506032075&sr=8-3&keywords=hole+punch+tool
There are others, the above is just an example.
And you need one of these to attach the female snaps: https://www.amazon.…[Read more]

Hate reading this thread. (Not really, but ya’ll know what I mean.)
Turns out both feet will be in protective boots for a few weeks after my surgery. So I won’t be able to drive, not even my normal daily drivers.
And the doc really wants me taking it easy for a few weeks post-op. Would one of ya’ll please tell Susanne she should be bringing my…[Read more]

Nice!
Really wish one of those would work on my Duchess. But because of the way the engine cover is hinged (at the bottom, on top of the rear valance) I’ve not been able to engineer a solution.
Occasionally I’ll grab an adult beverage and some Runyon rack pictures and sit there staring at it. So far, the result of those endeavors have been…[Read more]

Hopefully a London Roadster owner will reply. Meanwhile, you might take a look through the registry for other LR owners and contact them directly. Might get a quicker response that way.
