And why not? Here’s my take on Original vs. Reproduction
Original:
A good friend is now about 5 years into a restoration of an original ’52 MG TD.
The sheet metal is in the rafters of his garage, the chassis is stripped bare.
The rest of the car is in boxes around the garage. Oh, and he got to move the
disassembled car from one garage to another…[Read more] -

I already exchanged emails with Jeff.
He replied to my “contact us” submission within about ten minutes and we traded emails after that.
I told him I knew of “a few” people that would be interested. heck, mine is 27 years old and needsto be rechromed. I’d rather just buy one (or two?) for $106.
He is going to check with his suppliers to confirm…[Read more] -

The hits just keep on coming. Realize I am not verifying any of these. Just sharing what the distributors say they have.Frankly, I find this one hard to believe. If it’s real, someone ought to buy all that they have at $106 each!http://www.lbcarco.com/parts/grillechrome-plated-454-180.htmI submitted a “contact us” form. I’ll let you know what I…[Read more]

You are right James. That is not a grill for an MG, original or replica. If anyone is interested, those are body parts for a Classic Roadsters Duchess. Judging from the mounting points around the passenger compartment, it looks like they are for a VW.

File the wood spokes down and drive very, very carefully!
I know of nothing “out of the box”.Maybe if you find wheels, you can have the drums redrilled and tapped for the new bolt pattern? If you are looking for spin on hubs and wheels, then I’m really at a loss.

Hey, there’s an idea! Maybe you’ll run into an un-built kit selling for $1,000 or less. Buy it, use the grill and have a ton of spare parts! And I’m only half-kidding.

Hi Bill,
Verytough to find. As far as we know, no one is reproducing TD grills at the moment. Even Moss Motors does not have them.
fareoh had one for sale earlier this year. I don’t know if he sold it, but it would be worth reaching out to him at fareoh@gmail.com His original post is at:

There were a bunch of sites, most referencing back to the WindingRoad site. There is a license plate on it, but hard to read it. One site I read said it was “trailered” which doesn’t necessarily mean it IS a trailer. Now, since we’re talking miscellaneous VWs here..THIS is my idea of a VW Micro Bus:
The auction ended with no buyer…there are lots…[Read more]

I don’t know if he really levels it that way. But it makes sense to me. I read he has $8,000 in this thing! Could have built a decent MG for that!
