If you decide to move the pedals, Classic Roadsters assembly manual had excellent instructions. I’d be gladto photocopy them and send them along.
In addition to shortening the clutch and acelerator cables and moving the pedal cluster…
Those cables run in tubes within the center tunnel. You need to cut those tubes, deburr the cuts and reattach…[Read more] -

Bob,
Classic Roadsters offered an adjustable seat frame for the VW chassis. It is intended for use with Classic Roadsters bench seat. But I think it could be modified for use with a bucket.
I bought the parts but never used them and would be glad to sell them. Contact me off line at pmossberg@iso.com if you want to discuss this further. -
Paul Mossberg replied to the topic MGTD Replica parts in the forum General Discussion 18 years, 11 months ago
MG Magic is probably the only vendor specializing in MG replicas. And most of their stuff is for Fiberfab and CMC.
Many miscellaneous bits and pieces on our cars are reproduction MG parts. the big restoration house like Moss Motors are sources for these.
Just one example, my Classic Roadsters Duchess uses original door handles and latches, door…[Read more] -
Paul Mossberg replied to the topic mgtd wire wheels in the forum General Discussion 18 years, 11 months ago
My VW based TD is set up with steel VW Rims, old style chrome caps, with reproduction TD centers. You can see the car in the photo gallery in PMOSSBERG.
Most original TDs you will see will have steel wheels with hubcaps. Wire wheels were an option which most buyers did not buy. The wires flex more than the steel wheels, which hurt the…[Read more] -

Hi folks,
So far, I know we’ll have Mark H (pinkmg), Dale (schu) and me.
Dale – Ask a Carlisle staffer on the show field to look up the New Jersey Replicar Club and direct you to our tent. Mark and I will be in and out all day. So just drop by and ask for Mark or Paul.
If we don’t meet up that way, how about we agree to be at the tent Saturday at…[Read more] -

I’ll cover the Carlisle show Frank.
It would be nice to know who is planning on attending, with or without their TD. Perrhaps you coudl post a survey form? Or members can just post replies here.
I suggest we pick a time & day and meet at the New Jersey Replicar tent on the show field. We won’t know where that is until we get there. But the…[Read more] -

Good stuff from MArk re the engine cover.
You also asked about hood props. Classic Roadsters took the opposite approach to a “prop” for the front hood. CR’s hood has a u-channel running front to back to help stiffen the fiberglass. They recommended using a shoulder belt from the donor car (or a new one), rivet or bolt the metal attachment end…[Read more] -

Mark (and Holland)
The VIN may not be a problem. The more critical info is what the Title says.
When I titled and registered my VW based TD, New Jersey DMV transferred the VIN form the VW to the newly titled “reconstructed vehicle” because the car used the complete chassis from the donor car. Thsi may not be the case when kit uses a chassis f…[Read more] -

Here are some insurance sources. I checked all the web page links, they are current. I did not check phone numbers.

That’s awesome Phil! Congratulations! And many happy miles!
Nice looking ride. Mine (another red TD) hit the road for the first time in December 1982 and got snowed on first time out!

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic NEED MGTD INFO in the forum General Discussion 19 years, 4 months ago
Hello again Alan
Actaully, they are all “basic MG-TD” reproductions.
“Duchess” was the model name for he TD kit produced by Class Roadsters in fargo ND.
If you post a couple pictures, I bet someone on the list can help identify the manufcturer of your kit. Or, look through the gallery and the TD History, Replicas page from the links on the left. -

The Speedster club is an on-line club, focused solely on Porshce Speedseter reproductions.

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic NEED MGTD INFO in the forum General Discussion 19 years, 4 months ago
Gator,
It will depend on who manufactured your kit. Some of the kits used reproduction MT-TD parts for the grill and bumpers. They are easy to get, although they may be pricey.
You wrote a “northern company”. If you have a Classic Roadsters Duchess (company is in Fargo North Dakota), your car uses repro original TD parts.
Rechroming is always an…[Read more] - Load More
