BCWs are nice. They are also old. 1983 was 32 years ago. No matter how carefully kept, 32 year old cars need overhauling. That doesn’t mean the price is wrong, but. . .The thing to remember is the market is thin. The seller will likely not see too many serious buyers. Proceed accordingly.

It’s probably that there is no door directly into the kitchen. Just one change to make. Second bedroom could be utilized for storage.

Looks great, Rusty. And, yeah, an LSx will make it way too fast. That is the way these days–and probably a lot easier, parts-and-hassle-wise, than trying to source an old Datsun straight-six in running kit.
I just think the Z motor would look very AH3000 under the hood and sound authentic, is all. When or if I ever stumble into one I’ll make some… -

JohnFixing the right foot well on my Fiberfab is high on my list as well. Plenty of room under mine and not sure why they made it shorter.

Hey folks,
Anyone else try to straighten out a Carlisle Events car windshield sticker ?????I found it does not pay to be A/R (as in anal retentive) when it comes to trying to get that pesky sticker to come off when it starts to go onto the windshield a little crooked…..Mine will be the one (and only?) car with the crooked, off-center, slightly… -

1. Yes. The footwell is usually fiberglass. On mine there is a void behind it. BUT…what is behind yours? Some have a gas tank there maybe.2. Leave the carb heat alone. Instead look at your cooling tins and at the way your fuel line is routed.

Welcome. I know you’ll enjoy the car. I’m sure the VW guys will be able to help with your concerns. Just wait for them to wake up.

Sealed underneath mine looking for leak areas, Rainx on windshield, rainx anti-fog on inside of glass, adjusted brakes, fixed windshield wipers – now going a bit faster, fixed turn signal arm and other items.
Still need to wash, clay bar, polish and detail. Running out of time.See you guys on Thursday. -

Well here is the update. Bridget is looking good, though not all AutoX heandling goodies will be installed in time for Carlisle. Need to get a tire patched too. Here’s the update on where things stand now.

Here’s one on ebay today. But the owner is not willing to open boxes and therefore you don’t really know what you are getting. ???http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replica-Kit-Makes-MG-TD-Deluxe-/161700346674?forcerrptr=true&hash=item25a6177b32&item=161700346674

IMHO, it would probably cost less to buy an already assembled and running TDr. The cost of all the “little” things accumulate and add up. Yes, unassembled kits do show up occasionally but they are often missing pieces. For a chrome grill, figure $800, for a new top another $800, side curtains $600, for the VW chassis in good condition, $1…[Read more]
