Nice, man! I hear you on the side curtains. I have yet to use mine other than to seal up the car if I park it on what looks like a rainy day.
Actually, I lie. I DID use them once, now that I think of it. Drove about a block.I keep them handy though for those November runs to VA Beach. You never know when keeping the heat in the cabin will seem… -

Looks good. Your adventure reminds me: the 914 gauges are about the right size and there are plenty of repros around because of the Speedster replica business.

I’m pretty sure you can find a photo with that gesture AND a TDr in here.

Always so funny to me that running Speedsters–even very modest examples with pan-based chassis and small engines–start in the low teens while our cars, which are exactly the same under the skin and look cooler, struggle to fetch a third of that.
But!If original TDs were going for $250k I suspect our cars would increase in value a bit. -

If you know Danny, you know that’s his shirt.
Gave me a chuckle though I don’t think he’s going to make it. -

John, I spent 24 years in our Submarine Force on one of our WWII Diesel Electric’s and Nukes. As a Nuclear Engineer, I can’t help but ask if you could incorporate just one small mushroom cloud? I suppose not, – just kidding.
Each October (for the last two) members of the TDr club have met at The Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach Virg… -

Hmm —
I could take the 2332 cc out of Emma (the red BCW) and put it in the Speedster…But wait, do I really need another project — NOT…unless the price is right…And I thought only the Sirens in mythology tempted unlucky sailers…….Jack -

Craziest weather I ever saw. It was 15* earlier this week. 70* today in New Bern, NC. I just got back from a 30 mile ride. Runs perfectly.
Ed, you need to change your registration. -

I love the idea of daily-driving these. My registration precludes it, but I still love the idea.

On the other hand, Schu doesn’t own a top.
But, I’m with Ed. My TDr has been rained on twice. Once on a clear “not a cloud in the sky” day when I was in a restaurant eating lunch. The second was unavoidable. Other than that, here in NC, my top is up (no side windows) whenever it gets hot. I like the look. -

I run with my top up in the summer on real sunny, hot days if I’m going to be on the road for an hour or more. Shade is under-rated.

Wow, great post. This will give me a laundry list to check/fix re: cooling tin. By the way, when I made and installed a Hoover Bit on my Yellow Fiber Fab II (Abby) I was able to take off the engine cover and then lift the shroud off/on with enough clearance to actually not have to pull the engine.
I’ll have to see if the extended rear end on t… -

Hey folks,
It just happened to me too — I lost my really great, pithy and interesting reply that I spent 20 minutes typing —oh well, bottom line is I just went out and looked at the engine in the red BCW closely — it is an AH engine number, which translates into a ~1973 dual port, dual relief doghouse donor engine. Looking around the shroud, I… - Load More
