I run 10-30. If my oil press drops, I know it is time to clean the engine or change to 20-50 or both.

Tires under is always a good practice. I do that too (or did) unless they’d be in the way of what I was working on.

10w-40 if you can. 20-50 if it’s really tired, or really hot out.

Welcome to the club, Bryce. Your true story is pretty close to the bogus one I made up for my own BCW, purchased 7 years ago.
We’ll help you any way we can.Start by pulling the gas tank and emptying it, cleaning it out, putting new fuel lines and filters.Drain and change the oil.Drain the brake fluid. Inspect the hard brake lines and replace the… -

10 lbs per 1000 rpm is the going standard. But don’t assume what you see on the gauge is accurate.

I was once young. If you want to get old someday, don’t skimp and buy an El cheapo floor jack. Plan on spending at least $100. You want one with a nice big saddle. ..and look for one that is at least 2-1/2 tons. Also, look for one that has a large lifting range (difference between fully down and fully up). Look at the Jacks at your local…[Read more]

My bows have a Y or T joint where they meet up and have a set screw so you can adjust.
Maybe you can just loosen the set screw – otherwise cut it off a bit and do the fine adjustment with the set screw. Measure twice – cut once. -

I like that Sterkowski site, Bill. I think I need a new summer weight flat cap from them.

Arrived home around 11:00 with the clutch not working again. Once I got off the turnpike I used a bunch of back roads go get home without being a nuisance to other cars. Only had to come to a full stop once and from there I could see the house. It turns out the lower mounting bolt on the clutch master had backed out and the cylinder was co…[Read more]

MGA ran 15 inch wheels. You can get tubeless painted wires 60 spoke from MOSS Motors. About $225.00 a wheel.

Here is where you can get a new throttle arm connector.
It has a cable end repair piece included but for 4.95 not a bad deal. -

A note on fender mirrors.
I bought the convex mirrors from Moss about a month after I got my car, 2009. They were something like $38 for both, shipped. Looks like they’re still about the same.I later got a set of long stem motorcycle mirrors and bolted them to the windshield mounts. They work too.But I haven’t had them on the car for quite some… -

Back home safe. Got in about an hour ago. Stopped once on the highway to help someone else who was pulled over in a BMW, but they left as I was getting out of the car.
Not much rain or leakage. I’d never driven on the highway before with the side curtains; wasn’t bad at all.Great seeing you all. Rain ain’t bother us! - Load More
