Looks like about $2 zillion worth of cars (at today’s value)! 😎
I like the “padding” around some of the obstacles. If it’s SMALL, it gets a hay bale. If it’s BIG, two hay bales… 🙄

October 25, 2018 at 7:15 am #305638Your car looks terrific and just wait until you drive it. People in other vehicles literally hang out of their windows to video you going past.
You’ll also have to answer silly questions like,”Is that a REAL car?”

October 23, 2018 at 7:25 am #305625Congrats on your new car! It’s sure to be lots of fun!
Isn’t it still too early to be garaging it already, even for Canada? From your video it looks like there are still a few weeks of nice weather.
But you can still act like a kid and sit in it in the garage and dream. Or be like lots of us and find things to tinker with until warm weather arrives!
Congratulations once again!

August 19, 2018 at 7:52 am #305429I have a couple of these, one in my TDr and the other in my Bugatti. They’re not cheap, but look excellent, are quite solid, lots of storage space, many color options and shipping is free. Plus you get an arm rest at no additional charge!        https://www.jbugs.com/category/Universal_Cup_Holders.html

June 7, 2018 at 7:49 am #305039I retired a telephone splicer/tech after 32years. I’d tell people,”I’m the guy you see by the side of the road with the colored wires in his lap and the confused look on his face!” There IS a color code, so it DOES make sense, but trying to explain it to a layman was a lost cause. GOOD LUCK!

You would think others would be flattered. Or too busy PAYING for their cars than worrying about us little people!

January 4, 2018 at 7:49 am #304540Here is a site I think may be helpful:
Click on”parts”. There are all kinds of small trailer parts you might need.
Keep us posted. Good Luck.

December 14, 2017 at 8:42 am #304470Nice, pretty car. I noticed it was listed by Gateway Classic Cars. I’ve dealt with Gateway in the past, even purchased a vehicle from them in 2016. Nice, friendly group. I like how they post 100’s of pics of the cars, so you get a good idea of what you’re looking at. They DO tend to get “flowery” with their description of the cars, though. Positive spin.Their prices too, are a LITTLE high, but hey, they are a dealership. If you live near one of their showrooms, it is worth an afternoon to stop by, just to look at the cars. Like an indoor car show, only everything is for sale.

November 29, 2017 at 7:45 am #304391The biggest thing even close to this I ever tried was building wooden ship and airplane models. They still took a year or more of cutting, fitting, trimming and waiting.                                                                                                                                                                      I envy everyone who takes on these types of projects. Room, tools, experience, time, guts, all the things I don’t have enough of.    I just want to get in and drive.                                                                                                                                                                                You all have my two thumbs up!

November 27, 2017 at 8:47 am #304369That is a very nice looking little unit!
I don’t know why your rig would not be any problem. These types of trailers are made to be pulled by small vehicles. You don’t mention what type of hitch you have; if it’s a frame type or not. As long as you know the TONGUE weight of the trailer; so you know how it will effect steering and handling, the AXLE weight of the trailer; to safely start and stop (the momentum of car itself; occupants and luggage, PLUS the trailer and everything in it), the towing capacity of your car; so you know how it will safely cope, you should be ok. Remember, too, the overall effect of the added stress on the engine and transmission. As far as interstate speeds and semis, I agree, it’s not something I like to contend with, but if you avoid interstates and take other routes, keeping in the 45-55mph range I would not worry.

November 25, 2017 at 8:49 am #304343I am curious about this, also. My London Roadster came with a trailer hitch when I bought it. I immediately thought of a small trailer like the tear drop ones you’re referring to. I’d like to hear anyone’s experiences, too.

November 20, 2017 at 8:00 am #304307I made mine out of a Union Jack shower curtain. No zipper, and really light-weight but good for keeping the dew out overnight during spring shows, and keeping prying eyes (and spring showers) out if I need to park her somewhere for a few hours. Including the snaps and a snap installation kit I think I have $40 in the thing, and mine cost more than the one I linked above.
I LOVE it! I think I’m going to steal your idea! 💡 I promise to give you the credit if anyone asks. Thanks!

November 12, 2017 at 8:32 am #304285I’m sure they are not ALL exactly same, but, my tonneau cover works is the convertible top,(bows and all) must be taken off and the tonneau goes from the boot to dash. It covers the cockpit area only.
It is a taut fit, but not straining the stitching. Yours may be so old the material has lost it’s stretch. The vinyl, being an oil based material, will dry out after many years.

November 6, 2017 at 8:17 am #304254WOW! That must be some kind of sales speed record! Congrats to both parties. Hopefully the buyer is already a member and will post progress pics of the build.
The speed of the sale sort of reminds me of when I purchased my London Roadster. It was posted on eBay for only 9 hours before I saw it and had to have it . I guess if it’s what your looking for and at the right price, it’s a sale!
Congrats again to you both.

October 7, 2017 at 8:16 am #304158Recently stumbled on this short list of TDRs movie appearances on an interesting web site about movie vehicles. http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make=MG&model=TD+Replica&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on. Doesn’t seem complete but interesting nonetheless.
/>I really enjoy perusing this site. You can search for any movie or TV show and find what the cars shown were. Good for old movies.I like finding the car type, then finding the current market value. Look up the original”Italian Job”, for a real SHOCK! Over $2,000,000 in cars are destroyed! 😯

August 27, 2017 at 8:13 am #303975Very nice woodworking. I think,”As much wood as possible.” I made a wood shift lever knob similar to yours, but just haven’t gotten around to putting it on. I guess I think it turned out so well, I’m afraid it’ll break!

August 26, 2017 at 10:36 am #303955Two BIG thumbs up for your outside the box thinking! 💡 💡 Your repairs are very nice and I doubt anyone could see the patch.I know I can’t.
It seems like 99% of the fixes for our cars is sort of “seat of the pants” type. Kind of ,”This just might WORK!” then it DOES! That’s why I keep a big pile of scrap metal around.
Another one for the TDr (re)engineering department!

May 22, 2017 at 7:16 am #303599I am a HUGE fan of Japanese movies. I agree Mifune IS Japan’s John Wayne. Akira Kurosawa is like their John Huston.
Looks like the pics are WAY before Japan’s strangle hold on the auto industry…
