Greg Stickney replied to the topic TRUNK and ENGINE COVER SUPPORT on TD in the forum General Discussion 15 years ago
With my handicap I did not seem to need that five iron anyway! BTW, I attached an old hazard flasher can with the insides removed to the inside of the hood, using one of the screws that hold the latch in place. I painted it black to hide it; placing the rod inside the cup assures that it will not be knocked out by my avid… maybe rabid? fans when…[Read more]

I used a cut off shaft from an old five iron! It’s chrome, the right length, and works just fine.Greg

I will post a few pix tonight, but I used 2 X 2 aluminum angle, about two inches long, cut out to clear the manifold. I used the front, or hole closest to the side drivers side of the car to attach it.That allowed the bend in the cable to be a bit more gentle, and let me alter the linkage to my advantage. On the hump inside the car, I used to…[Read more]

Regarding that mess of wires, I faced a mess similar to yours, and solved it with a pair of sharp wire cutters and a new wiring harness from american autowire. I will assume that will come AFTER you get the rest figured out!Greg

No repaint, just a TOTAL rewire and lots of chrome polish! My bride tells me a new interior is in my future as well. Apparently Vinyl doesn’t do it for her. White leather, she says, rolled and pleated of course. Sigh….. Greg

Having just finished my car, (I have the Duraspark system) and being an old school kind of guy, I just could NOT get my car started with that darned ecm unit. I finally found THE go-to guy in the area and he started my car within twenty minutes. I just hate it when that happens! The key is the two wires coming out od the Duraspark, Red and white,…[Read more]

When I say easy as pie, I mean that it took two of us three weeks to properly wire the car. Soldered joints, shrink wrap, try, confirm operation, then move on. Every wire was labeled, such as left front turn signal, every 6 to 8 inches. My buddy and I were meticulous about how we did the rewire, and that eliminated all those ugly bugs that usually…[Read more]

Rich has the formula exactly right, and those are the same dimensions I have in my car. I figure 12 gallons is just about right, and my gas gauge seems to be accurate, although I need to test it to be sure.Greg

My bride and I had the pleasure of meeting Mel and his lady while they were here in Florida. I know they want to be here in The Villages full time (we have the very best snow removal) but sadly they are stuck. 🙁 When they return we’ll have our car completed, running, and enjoying it. The new wiring harness is wonderful, and was not that hard ti…[Read more]
