Greg, – my 2c worth follows. Sorry, but I have to say that I think you are approaching this problem from the wrong direction. You have an engine heat problem. You have said that you have some/all missing tin. I really don’t know whether or not your engine is in a good state of tune.
I don’t exactly treat my TD with kid gloves. I get into it q… -

OK, I emailed the BigHugeLabs dude just like last year. For sure he’ll send us a link, but a word on his contact page says they’re on vacation until Dec 3 or so. Which means we’ll be seeing a reply email with a link maybe next week.Sorry for the delay.

Couldn’t figure out how to get a reprint of that calendar. There’s nothing on their pages directing me to get a print of a calendar that was already created. I’ll keep checking.

Thanks Ed, that is what I am hoping for.
What I really need is for some of you guys with dual carb setups would go and measure the max width of your rig. As I said, I have 31″ inside my engine cover. If you think that your rig may fit, please tell me what rig you have. Thanks. -

OK, tried it again asking for a 100 c.i. engine & it’s no good for that either.Roy, I’m going way out on a limb here and advising you: go with two little one-bbls if they’ll fit. Don’t mess with Webers & stuff on a little engine like that. Instead, buy a small carb kit with manifolds and a set of small ratio rockers. Spend money on the rocker arm…[Read more]

Wow. I tried that selector for a 2.2 Subie and crapped out every time. Just doesn’t have anything. But I know a guy in Canada put a Subie in his Speedster with a progressive Holley/Weber and it does great–30+ mpg, strong acceleration and smooth startup.

Moneypenny is progressing nicely. Now if Santa will be nice and put the carpet kit on sale for Christmas. Low tonight…27. That’s pretty cold for GA. Tomorrow’s high is 72. Go figure! But I will be driving my TD in the near future.newkitman2012-11-24 22:48:39

Pulled the carb, replaced a gasket, installed a new fuel filter, tightened the clamps on every gas line I could get my hands on — and finally, FINALLY, got the Lafer to run again. A little chilly here (comparatively speaking, for those of you in northern climes) but sunny and great for a 40-minute top-down shakeout run while my wife and older…[Read more]

Yep! I paid less than that asking price for my unbuilt kit. Then had to find a chassis. Got a steal on the chassis. Go choice to let it go. Keep looking…you’ll find one out there that’s calling your name.
