Must have been about 5 months since I changed the MC and bled the brakes. The nut is actually the connector that threads into the brake cylinder from the brake hose. I refilled the reservoir every 5-6 weeks. It never went down all the way just down about 1/4 inch below the full line. The nut was cracked at the portion where the threads start just…[Read more]

Good to hear from you.
I had not thought of just replacing the cable tie-in area. I may have a VW speedo around here someplace and now have a backup plan. Not sure if the innards are the same but I guess I can find out. It looks like I have to pry the metal edge of the face back to open it up.
The repair places charge as much for…[Read more]

Assuming you are using a cable driven VW type of speedometer can you not just cannibalize a VW speedo and transplant the components into your defective one. Have read on either this forum or Speedster one that there is an outfit in US that can do repairs/transplants but have not bookmarked site as I use a GPS speedo. Ed is active on the…[Read more] -

Any idea how the nut was damaged and how long you have been just adding fluid to the reservoir -

My brake master cylinder has been leaking slowly and since today was dry and warm enough to work on the problem I went at it. Checked all the brake lines from the reservoir to the MC and all were good. Then checked all the brake bleeder screws and they were good. Checked the brake lines into each brake cylinder and found the nut to the right rear…[Read more]

I’ve been off the road for more than a year, dealing with a particularly bothersome form of blood cancer. No cure, but manageable with Medicare, the right insurance, plenty of spare change, good doctors, and a wife who just won’t give up. Doing better now, only to be shocked on learning that Paul Mossberg is (a) no longer driving a TDr, and (b)…[Read more]

Brad at MG Magic says he does not think he has one but said he would take a look at his old stock and get back to me but no luck so far.
Anyone else have one sitting in a parts box?

Been having wiring problems on and off and decided to ditch Moneypenny’s hand made (by me) harness and got her a new Harness from Rebel Wiring. Waiting for the weather to straighten out and get to her. She’s getting new tires and a good detailing after that!

billnparts replied to the topic I need a Radiator Shell for a Duchess. in the forum MGTD Kit Cars 5 years, 6 months ago
I run a Fiberfab. I ran without a grille shell for a couple years because there were no replacements out there. New and used Grille shells for an original TD are available, however. You could probably adapt one of these to fit as I did by trimming some flanges and modifying the front fenders.

I have a Ford based CMC kit and could use the hood if it fits. What are you asking for it.

MG Magic is still in business. Here’s their web site:
https://mgmagicclassicmotorparts.com/
There is no source specifically for the Classic Roadsters Ltd. Duchess that I am aware of.
The Duchess uses a reproduction TD grill. Even Moss Motors does not have them. Occasionally you will see one pop up on eBay, typically in the $1,000 range if they…[Read more]

Is MG Magic out of business? Is there any source for parts for a Duchess? Does anyone have a new or used radiator shell for sale? Can a damaged shell be repaired and re-chromed? Any help will be appreciated.
