I just made some using carpet runner available from Lowes. I took the old carpet (just replaced) and used it as a pattern. If your carpet won’t come out, just make a paper pattern and trace on the back and cut it out. Cheap, looks good and a custom fit.

I can’t tell you if it will fit, but the 3 bow 53 top is a little longer. The extra bow gives you more headroom and you need a little longer top to go over the third bow. The only sure way to tell is to find someone with an original 53 TD and compare measurements. Check to see if there is a British Sports Car Club in your area as a start in finding one.

Usually a problem with the grounds rather than a bad wire!

Well from what it looks like it will be Richard, Ed, Paul and myself this time –
anyone else coming? On another note – I just spoke to Greg and unless something changes he will
not be bringing his speedie – he does not feel like it is even ready to tow.
I guess I will have a right seater again. Not sure if I will be driving or flat tow…[Read more]

well now i feel like the biggest dummy in the world . after looking at the speedometer , it is in kph not mph.the mph is in little bitty numbers hidden by the steering wheel.its still jumping around some. and it just quits like my horn every so often. one brake light works but both turn signals work. ill be chasing electron gremlins for a while.

That’s the first time I’ve seen that. The site has always wanted picture files, jpg’s or whatever. You are using the little “tree with the arrow” icon, right? That link will tell you “Images must be of the type, jpg, jpeg, gif, png, and have a maximum file size of 500KB”

DON MEDON replied to the topic converting from amp meter to volt meter in the forum VW Based Kits 13 years, 11 months ago
Mark..if I am understanding you correctly, you would hook the starter solenoid wire to the regulator wire, and hook them both to the ignition switch? My power to the ignition switch is currently coming from the amp meter. Thanks for your help. Don

Good looking car!! It’s got a lot of original MG features, very authentic.
It’s very difficult to get gelcoat to shine like quality paint but it is a very longlasting and tough finish. Try the products designed for fiberglass boats which are available at any marine dealer.
I like the vertical E-brake lever. -

Would a ’53 3 Bow top from an original MG like from Moss fit? Is it longer than a ’52?
edsnova
Yes it is a chrome windshield complete with pitting from not being taken care of like it should be. It does fold and the hinge for the hood is on the drivers side.
I am looking to fix the gelcoat. Any suggestions? -

Great looking car. Looks like a real chrome windshield frame that folds down, and either a stright-up ’53 top mechanism or a very nice reproduction. Looks like your hood opens similar to my BCW, with hinges on the drivers side and a latch on the passenger side, all hidden. Very slick.Drive on up to Carlisle, I say!
