Geoff,
My PVC valve (the plastic elbow) was badly cracked and I was having similar issues with both a surging idle and occassional momentary loss of power at 2000-3000 rpm. Replaced the PVC valve (along with the cracked plastic elbow) and it immediately smoothed out and ran like it should. Replacement cost was about $2.
Good luck. And let us kn…[Read more] -

James is spot on with regards to the quality of this handle. And for just under $8 it cannot be beat. My local Northerntool didn’t carry them, but I was able to buy it online and have it shipped to the store without any shipping charges.
One more item bites the dust on my to-do list.

Hi and welcome to the forum. In the download manuals section you can actually down load assembly manuals and print them out if you desire. The FIBER/FAB manual will be close enough to the MIGI that you can get a pretty good feel as to the steps to follow. It’s all free including the program that you down load to see the manuals.Good luck and…[Read more]

Thanks guys for the tips and info.I did not realize that most of these kits have the hole in the rear cover. My thoughts were that when on display at shows this is going to look terible.I will however figure a way to cover the hole and still have venting for the engine. My plans are to have the spare fold away and hinge the cover to the body.I h…[Read more]

Hi, That is some good looking fabrication with attention to detail and strength. My London Roadster has the hole in the engine cover and uses the spare tire and wheel to cover it.Are you going to attach the spare tire support to the engine cover and use it as the hinge or do you plan to hinge the cover to the body just below the point where the…[Read more]

It has some similarity to an Arkley but with added running boards. The green Spartan was the only thing that I ran across with some similar treatments in the lines and hardware, like Paul mentioned, it’s not one of those. What a mystery.

Scott,It’s very hard to believe the factory would have missed parts in one box. It’s not like they were producing hundreds of kits and when they were ready to ship, would go to the warehouse and pull various body parts off a shelf to pack into a shipping crate. More typically, they were making the parts for a full kit at a time. That said, I guess…[Read more]

I just started it in the parking lot and let it get to running temp. I could not replicate the issue. I simply refit the pcv hose again. I hope that gets me home so I can check the rest.
Where do I point the timing light to check timing?

Geoff,I’ll jump in with the easy stuff first.Clogged fuel filter, weak fuel pump, cracked or wet distibutor cap,bad wires, causing spark to jump.Ignition control module going bad.And lastley timing belt jumped a tooth.Hope it gets you back home,my guess would be the timing belt.
