I am a firm believer if the KISS method of building do not make it more expensive or complicated

Thanks Kall. I’ve been tying wiring with wax string for 40 some years. Labor intensive but for some unknown reason I actally enjoy it! Perhaps its therapeutic?

A wax string harness! That tells me that you are familiar with that traditional method of finishing electronic wiring. Good for you. It is labor intensive but looks sooo much better than plastic ties or spiral wrap. A well done strung harness is a craftsman’s touch for electrical work, comparable to an elegantly formed EMT array. 🙂

Just installed my new top, used Sunbrella fabric like they use for boat tops instead of vinyl. I am very pleased with the results.

For those who are talented enough to write a blog, etc., I read an interesting article in Moss Motoring’s Magazine. It was the last article in the magazine and it was, as far as I think, the neatest way to write about the life of a Bugeye Sprite. Most bloggers and chroniclers of their rebuilds, myself included, basically detail the work they do…[Read more]

Well I have Moneypenny’s dash and instruments cluster all wired. Just have to finish testing and tying the wires with wax string. If all goes well, tomorrow I’ll install the dash. I’ll take plenty of photos…chassis grounds and behind the dash wiring.

On all the VWs I have ever worked on there has always been a stud on the driver’s side rear axle fork except on my TDRs VW chassis (1971.) So I got the hanger bolts to attach the grounds and the wire from the transaxle to the ground stud. While checking the pan one last time, I noticed on the passenger side, where the battery goes, not only was…[Read more]

“ASVE” simply means “assembled vehicle”. That’s the way Nevada chose to title my car. The title from Utah that I received when I bought the car referred to the make as “SPCN” — special construction, maybe?

I’m not seeing much of a problem. Pages load ok. Some replies to posts seem to be taking a bit longer than usual. But nothing really objectionable.

Good luck with the sale.
So sad to hear your experience with this car is so tainted. She sure is beautiful.
Totally up to you, but it would be interesting to hear the selling price. Estimating values on TDr’s is difficult. It’s helpful to see some actual closed sales. I understand this is rather personal; and totally understand if you…[Read more]

Very nice looking car. Sorry to hear you had such a disappointing experience with it.
Gateway Classic Cars is a great company to deal with. Extremely friendly and competent staff. Their prices are not too high considering all they do. They do a super job presenting the cars to their best. Beside their showrooms, they also list on Ebay, so your…[Read more]
