First time out of the garage in about 10 years. My daughter says we should name her “Kit Cat”. Motor not yet installed, front right brake is shot, and the tires need replacing. Nice to look at in the Sunshine though. -

Pretty much all of us have clamps on our clutch cables. Short of having a custom one made, it’s the only way to get the right length cable when you move the stock clutch pedal back 18 inches or so.

Sorry it has taken so long to reply.I have been out of the country for a couple of weeks and could not connect. I have the correct amount of play in the clutch pedal and I do not have to depress it to the firewall completely to shift into first or reverse. I do believe I will try the synthetic as proposed and see if it helps.I did notice the…[Read more]

I purchased that snap tool on Royal’s advice last year and was surprised how much easier it was to fasten the snaps. It’s well worth the money.

I found that the best way to use the side curtains is to keep them wrapped up in a bungee cord in a plastic garbage on a shelf in your shop .

Paul,
It was a good find.I bought one. It will pay for itself the first time I don’t tear a snap.BDriver -

Please allow me to add to Paul’s instructions.
I removed the set screws on the slide that tensions the bows, and replaced with small knobs from Tractor Supply. Puta dull point on the screws and then you can, without an Allen, loosen the bows. This makes erecting and putting side curtains in much easier – at least on mine.Royal2014-07-10 17:19:12

Classic Roadsters Litd. side curtains have an additional zipper under teh side window. You can open that, reach through and attach the curtain to the windshield frame (and pay tolls in the days before EZ-Pass).Without that additional access zipper … attach all the snaps on the door at at the rear of the curtain. Start the zipper (which I… -

I have used a rubber-like caulk that came in a big tube and required a caulking gun, but that was a long time ago. It was black and stayed flexible for a very long time. Don’t remember the product name. SORRY.

So what is the caulking of choice. I have only used great stuff for stationary applications but I can see where it would be squeaky. I’d like to think my TDr will be quiet enough to hear squeaking!

Matt,
List your car in the classified section. Pictures. Location. Condition. Price.London Roadsters are described in the Manufacturers’ Comparison. Most were Migi kits built on VW chassis and sold as factory built cars. Some used a purpose built chassis with coil springs on all four corners.BDriver -

Hey, Richard: I put a Subaru in it.
It runs, but I can’t get her to open the thermostat. Apparently air in the system despite the rad cap being well above any other point in the cooling system. What I’ve done is try three times to get it to fill and run. And three times it’s puked out a whole bunch of water/antifreeze from the high side into and… -
