February 11, 2012 at 9:36 am #249048But when you’re dead someone else gets your toys.
Is anybody tabulating/graphing/averaging out all these ages?
February 11, 2012 at 9:44 am #249049Checking in at 54 as I write. Got my first one, the London Roadster at 53. I’ve been in love with old cars forever and the MG TC/TD since I was at least 12. I never had the time, willingness nor money to spend fixing up a real one after every time around the block, so I’m happy with some more reliable engines.
February 11, 2012 at 2:04 pm #249050I am 53 till June. I bought Scarlett in Oct. 2004. I have always thought the TD body style was the epitome of what a British sports car should look like. In over seven years of ownership she has never left me on the side of the road.
February 12, 2012 at 1:53 pm #249051I’m 52 and bought my Lafer in late 2007..
February 12, 2012 at 7:12 pm #24905258. Old enough to know better, too dumb to care! If I live long enough, I may get this car thing out of my system……….. Naaaaw….. not likely.
February 12, 2012 at 10:43 pm #249053Going on 62 here in Lakeland, Florida. I built “Herbie” a Classic Roadster, in 1985. and currently doing a “Restoration” on the chassie, body, and top.
I have more fun going slow then fast……………..

February 14, 2012 at 2:27 am #249055Late to the party, but I have a good excuse. Just got back from celebrating our 40th anniversary. I’m about a month away from turning 63, and my bride is . . . younger.

February 28, 2012 at 9:44 am #249061So far….25 members responded with their current age. And 16 let us know when they built/bought their first TD.
Avereage age 59.64 years. We range from 33 to 71.5.Average age when we built/bought our (first) TD 52.69. The range is 24 to 70.Average Years Owned 6.59. We’ve owned our cars from a half year to 29 years. But the really interesting thing is the distribution on years owned.- Twelve of us have had our TDs for less than a year to only three years
- 1 for six months
- 4 for one year
- 4 for two years
- 3 for three years
- Three of us have had our cars for over 20 years (22, 26 and 29)
The record for most years owned is yours truly, Paul Mossberg.PMOSSBERG2012-02-28 10:01:26

February 28, 2012 at 12:40 pm #249063Thanks, Paul, that’s quite a range in ages. It’s good to me to see such a wide range.
February 28, 2012 at 2:26 pm #249064I didn’t notice the second part of this poll until today. I found Percy in a barn outside Montgomery, Texas, five years ago, which means I was 57 at the time and the third owner (as near as I’ve been able to determine).

February 28, 2012 at 5:12 pm #249068Welcome Smitty. I lived in Greenville for a short time back in 57-58. Dad was moved there for work. I don’t remember much about it just how friendly everyone was. I was only about 7-8 years old then. I did pick up a southern accent, took alot longer to loose it when we moved again.
