May 3, 2009 at 5:00 pm #238816Way cool!
I really like the spinners on the black TF.
May 4, 2009 at 8:52 am #238817The Black TF was the prettiest of the T series there
May 4, 2009 at 4:25 pm #238818Mel,
Small world.
My friend Steve, owns a black MGA that is in the background of a couple of the Clipper Blue TD photos. He would like a small royalty payment. And you caught Steve in one photo (fifth photo, 2nd pic of the deep red TD, wearing red Rutgers sweatshirt). He will be send you a model’s release and payment form. 🙂
FYI – The deep red TD won best in show. The black TF was second. The clipper blue TD won best in class. You have a good eye for Quality.
Fun story, the deep red TD was the fourth TD imported to Hawaii, where it spent most of it’s life. The current owner bought it, restored it from “basket case” condition to what you see today.
I asked my friend about replicas on the show field. He thinks they would be accepted into and judged in the modified class.

There’s a Brit club here about, I’ll think I’ll go to one of their shows.

We really had a good time inspite of the weather. Best news is the wife had a great time and wants to go to more shows.
Mel
PS Paul thanks for the back story
May 5, 2009 at 6:07 pm #238822Mel,
My wife would be tugging on me to go the entire time. To her a car is a car, it’s only the color that matters. But get her at a yard sale, and it’s me tugging on her to go as she has to examine everything…everything. And she cannot leave without buying something, anything. When we have a yard sale I take the MGTD out front with a yard sale sign on her. Every guy then slams on the brakes and shops. We actually had a guy with a real deal MGTD on a trailer that he bought at auction, he said it belonged to Red Skelton and he wanted to buy my white replica to have one to drive (HA HA, now mine is not running ).
Mel, you got a keeper, she likes the shows

It gets better I found a MG show about two hours drive away. It’s in Waterford Ct on the north shore of L.I. sound.
I printed the info yesterday and showed it to her last night. I asked if she wanted to go and make a day trip of it.
Her answer was………………………………YES
Now i’m worried that she will drive the car all the time and not let me behind the wheel.

May 9, 2009 at 8:47 am #238825Mel,
With June in sight, have you lined up car shows in Florida? Any southern Britfests this summer?

No British car shows in Florida, but the local Vintage car club has a show the week after I get there. I am joining that club, the president has been very in giving me advise and I think they need some Vintage Britsih rolling stock.
I hope to have my car at that show
5 weeks and counting
