One of the projects I need to do while restoring my MiGi is a new dashboard. I can’t afford a new one from MossMotors. I plan to use the existing dash as a pattern, cut it from1/8 aluminium sheet, after cutting the holes, use a wood burl, &  make it look as close to original as possible. Has anyone had experience in this area?

Gerd is your man.  He custom makes several wook peices including
his Dash, a storgage trunk for behind the seats and center console with
drink holder. Prior to moving from TX to IL, I had the pleaseure to
meeting Gerd (yes it is spelled correct, he’s German). I got to see his
work up close.
