Hey Paul, Bebop here.  Randy in Sun Lakes AZ.  My MGTD replica used to be listed on the site but I do not see it since the format change-over.  It was the only one made by Rich Industries out of Port Elizabeth South Africa.  It was made on a new Ford Cortina frame  straight 4 cylinder with drive-shaft rear drive.  For some reason that manufacturer is no longer listed as a TD manufacturer on the site.  Since then do you know of any other Rich Industries TD’s in this country?  Randall  Eshpeter

Thats a commercial AD that should be banned, but last year I bought a 2007 tacoma 4wd single cab at a municipal auction site, sight unseen,  out of Oro Valley AZ. 60k miles it was a good deal, look up public auctions .com  something like that.

Did any of the other old members have any trouble updating to the new format?

Welcome aboard! Mine is a Ford also. A 1986 English Ford Escort / Cortina. April 27 16 First of all if it’s hot like it is here in Phoenix Arizona you’ll have to adjust the choke on your carbeurator twice a year for summer and winter. And in order to grease the upper ball joints you have to take the wheel all the way off.   Randy / Mr. Bebop  🙂

Well, not many foggy bebop’n days out here but back in Fort Worth I used ‘Rain-X’ on the outside of the windshield and wiped and buffed ‘Never-Fog’ on the inside of the glass. I seldom went bebop’n on rainy days and if I needed more than that I just kept a cotton towel in the passenger door pocket for excessively foggy days.  YES, I had an MGB too. liscensed “B-MUSED” – B – Bopp’in  Get it?

Thanks John. Once I bought one of those Pertronics four cylinder electronic ignition kits for it and never got it from back-firing no matter how I turned it 180  So I am on my last 2 sets of points that turned out to be from  Bosch Boat Motor of all things that’s in there. But heck I only changed the points once in twenty years. I’ll look for john the brit if I need ya   thanks  Randy E

WELL, NOT EXACTLY A RAT RIG… BUT MINE HAS STEEL CORTINA WHEELS WITH AUDI HUBCAPS WITH THE METAL MG LOGO BADGES CEMENTED INTO THE MIDDLE CIRCLES. I TRIED A SET OF THOSE 16 FINGER MAG WHEELS THAT MOSS USED TO SELL YEARS AGO BUT COULDN’T GET ONES THAT FIT THE ENGLISH ESCORT.  LOOK BACK AT THE POSTS ON BOAT WAX IF YOU WANT TO TRY THE BEST GEL-COAT WAX I EVER FOUND.

I used some stuff called POR to cover the light rust on the floor-board of my 63 Willys 4wd truck when I replaced the one piece rubber floor pad on the cab floor.  Two or three coats of POR on both sides of the floor and the rust was sealed completely and no longer able to get wet and further oxidize.  It worked great ….But it’s nasty smelling stuff that recommends wearing an air mask and takes 24 hours to dry.

Right, like Paul said I went to Meguiars site for boat and marine products and chose the One Step Marine and RV compound and Flagship premium Marine wax. It really does deepen the color quite a bit as it shines.

Well, I agree that you have to be super carefull with electric buffers or polishers with Fiberglass and gel-coat. The heat builds up fast if you are not carefull. I had one of those orbital buffers and mounted it upside down inside a five gallon plastic bucket, lined the inside of the bucket with sheepskin, and turned it into a great pool / billiard ball polisher. With a little Aramith Billiard Ball Cleaner it buffs an entire set of pool / snooker balls to a brilliant shine in about three minutes. Thats about all high speed buffers are good for in my view.

I had mine as a 1952 MG in Fort Worth and still had to pass the full safety inspection.

Phoenix Arizona its a 1986 Ford Cortina. (English Ford Escort), and all I have is emissions.

Theres no outlet to plug into under the dash, of course, and they dont want to bother to check the tail pipe emissions manually, so I guess I get a free pass. The new cars, they just plug into the vehicle sending unit, its over in two minutes.

You know, I have ridden in the Chrysler turbine car quite a few times.  in 1964 my best friend Calvin DeWitt’s mother won the use of one of the turbine cars for one year in a contest,  in Tucson AZ of all places. I guess they wanted to test it in the desert. It was a slick car but not good on gas mileage, as I recall.
