Count me and the Green Goose in. I’ve been jealous reading about the adventures at Carlisle.Bout’ time we got an event for us wrong-coasters.The Scottish event at the Queen Mary has an English car ‘show’. I’ve been a couple of times. The Goose always causes trouble.

Mine has always had a muffler and no cat. Now that I’ve converted to a 2.2L Chevy flex-fuel I’ve got a muffler & pipe.

I also felt the space in the rear was a waste so I created a boot. I used the existing hinge and added an electric latch.

hooking direct to the battery will create a constant drain. you want to connect to the “ignition” side of the ignition switch. that way the gauge will come on with the other instruments and show the voltage in the system. But when you kill the ignition there won’t be any drain on the battery.

Allen,I have a tilt front end so I brought all my front end electrics to a plug in front of the left front wheel which is where I grounded the whole works. Self taping screw into the frame. The plug is so I can disconnect the wiring when I pull the front off.

Allen,The ground wire attaches to the mounting plate as in the Lucas socket.Having non-conductive bodies on out cars we have to run a ground wire from ALL lights and accessories. On a metal body car just mounting the lamp would have grounded it.So there are only two wires coming from the socket. The ground wire attaches to the mounting bolt. It’s…[Read more]

The new rearend installed almost as a bolt-in.The only real modification was moving the trailing link attach points outboard 1.5 inches.
The original attach points.
Modifying
The new points:-)
The links fit into the TDr with no modification.
The new rearend in it’s place.
The gas tank back in…
Now I wait for the new driveline.New wheels are in…[Read more]

I took the Chevette shell and pulled it off the shaft. Then made a tube out of steel to hold the shaft.I moved all the switches to the dash.
I’ve been looking for a brass acorn nut to dress up the wheel adapter but it’s still on the ‘to do list’.

in addition to the sign shops also try your trophy shop. They make small signs. like name tags etc. they can also make them out of brass or other metal.

Ed would you believe I fill my tires with helium….??Sorry.I took the weight from the shipping manifest when the car was moved by a shipping co.I didn’t weigh it.About being ‘too soft’ when I got the car it would bottom out if I rolled over anything thicker than a cigarette paper. I got tired of having my teeth jarred out. And the tires sat high…[Read more]

Ed, The Dutchess’s ride was too soft even with new stock springs so I had to add the air bags to make up the difference.I would like to do without the air bags which means some engineering with the springs.I have the stock Chevette springs, I also have the stock “street” springs from the Alpha. My Alpha racing neighbor gave me a set of the stiff…[Read more]

Ed I have three sets of springs and have to figure out what set to use and if any modifications need to be done. The Chevette curb weight is 1843 – 2035 LbsThe Alpha……………………2900 – 3200 LbsThe Dutchess……………….1280 lbsI’m going to shorten the shocks as the Alpha shocks are to tall. Or rather buy shorter shocks.

Out with the old….
“Old and busted”
“new and rusted…”
You can see the similarity between the two axles. The new rear end will give me disk brakes, 300 HP capability, sway bar, & a three link style.Anyone need a Chevette Third member?Has new donut & center bearing.Axle is making noise don’t know where from.Make offer. It’s in Los Angeles.
