Ed it looks like we got the same bows. And I think a boat shop is the way to go.The fix on the bows is a quick cut, stretch, & weld.

I forgot to show the bows I got from Moss. You can see it misses the windshield by about 2 inches.

I think at this point I will modify the bows I got from Moss (copy of original MG TD) to fit my chassis and take her to a boat upholstery shop and get them to make me a Bimini cover. The reason this is my plan is that the local (Los Angeles) auto top shops no longer make tops but just install “kits” they buy. What’s this world coming to?

Okay all you information gurus. I trying to put a top on the duchess and I have a OEM top frame which as we know falls short of the windshield. But that’s not the question. The MG Magic site says the Duchess should be 50 1/2 inches from boot to windshield. Mine is 52 inches. what I need to know is; will the extra inch and a half mess up fitting a…[Read more]

don’t use a starter solenoid (switch) as it is only for momentary use. get a “Battery isolator” solenoid as they are designed for continuous duty.

I didn’t like the look of modern gauges and when I had to go to electronic gauges it took me a bit to find autometer line. I like the look of their quad gauge. And as to the question of a clock…Yes. I definitely suggest a clock.

Court Wizard replied to the topic tachometer in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 10 years, 8 months ago
Most electric tachs connect to the coil or distributor where it can ‘see’ the pulses. Electronic tachs may need to connect to the computer. Mechanical tachs (Which I understand you don’t have) come off the cam shaft or distributor drive.I hope this helps.

Court Wizard replied to the topic trunk space in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 10 years, 9 months ago
I used the original ‘Duchess’ hinge.
I did have to cut around the gas cap to allow the “gas tank” to tip.
It also allowed me to mount the fuel pump and filter on the top of the real gas tank. As I’m running injectors the pump, filter, & regulator had to be changed.
