Got mine done. Inlaws coming over for Easter. Saturday I managed to track down the proper 17mm allen key. On Sunday a.m. about 9 I figured I’d just see if I could loosen the plugs. Got ’em loose in about five minutes so I figured, what the hey? I still got an hour before I need to get ready for company, so why not drain it & get the new stuff…[Read more]

How much are the dues? And is that the normal rate or the kit car rate? 😀Seriously though, if they’ve met you it’s no mystery why they want you in their club.

Excellent pictorial. Those sockets are a definite weak spot.

Well, if they invited you, they must feel you meet the requirements. Sounds like an honor.

Totally gay. But very eclectic in her tastes. :-)Roy: The Subi is a near certainty, especially now that I know B’s current engine has something close to 200,000 miles on her–and 50k since the 1982 rebuild.Horner did a real nice job for his first time out.

Thought it looked a little too good. The nose of that Bimmer should be way waaaay lower with the 1000-lb cow on the hood.

Larry, last I checked, British Coach Works was still a live corporation in PA but not operating since about 1986. The successor company appears to be Smoothline. It is (or was, a couple years back) still operated by the Fussenegger family, who were the original founders of BCW.And, yeah. Seems unlikely they would have bought LR given their status…[Read more]

+1 on Marine Tex. I’d maybe put a backer behind the holes to start–alumatape will do. Leave it a little loose so some epoxy flows behind the repair.Since your cover covers the space you can finish it any way you want–no need to match paint or gel coat.As for the re-snapping: looks like a very small lip there for you to target. Maybe an inch or…[Read more]

Make sure you’ve got spark to all four jugs. Pull the plugs after a run & see that they aren’t fouled. Time it 20-30 degrees BTDC at 3000 rpm, then try again.Once you get your sparks in order, then and only then start looking at your carb. It will need adjustment too.The muffler? Good question. If it’s old you might just replace it. Could be full…[Read more]

Kent, the circles in your hubcaps are about 3 inches in diameter. Those are cool but won’t fill it without help. The repro TD center medallions ($11 each at Moss, cheaper elsewhere) are 2 1/4 inches and come close to covering.
