Yes, they had an air compressor just past the registration tent.

Stained the new dash just now. It starts out wet, of course, so just as you wipe the stain on you get a preview of what it will look like all done. The flame on this wood is hella nice. No pics; they don’t do it any justice.

Yeah, it should be fine. That C-Type rig was not so great anyway, which is why they changed it to a Panhard.

Yep! I loved that book too. No telling how screwed up my life’d be if I read it when I was 14 instead of last year.

Roy,Not sure I follow you totally, but my cable goes through a aprox. 4-6″ tube w/ a flared end on the carb side and is held in place on the back side of the fan housing w/ a small hose clamp to keep it in place – very simple, but works. Maybe your talking about farther back by the trannie? Been a while since I put that together ( maybe 6 years?…[Read more]

Yep, heard of the Watts link. Popular on the Mustangs, I think. The C-Type was more like what you’re doing, except the A-arm is turned the other way. And it’s offset to one side.

I like the A-arm idea. Easy to source part, and the setup is not unlike what Jaguar did on the early C-Type to augment the torsion bars. Have you seen road-going hotrods with that setup?

Nice custom frame. That use of the control arm as an upper strut is really a novel approach. That should work really well with the addition of another crossmember. Beautiful.

I would love me one of them! Still would rather an aluminum C-type with a 4.2 Jag drive train. Right hand drive, please. I think those replicas go for about $140k now.

The front engine kits include a frame. The Chevette based kit is jigged to bolt the Chevette drivetrain components from the donor car directly to its frame. The same hold true for the Ford based kit. You can consult the builders manuals in the directory on the left.Welcome.

Roy, I found my engine…it was at the other end…
Pulled the worst side panel this evening, I really need to fill all the holes that were meant to be temporary…
