Not the usual 2.3 Ford motor. Maybe an earlier 2.0 or 1.6?
I think with those seats the steering wheel would be in your chest, but everything’s fixable. -

Looks like a nice build – very clean all around except the engine itself, but that would not take long to correct.Who is going to jump on this one? I agree w/ Ed on the seats, but might change my mind after a few hours on the road.

I’m not familiar with the piece on the rear of the crossmember. The piece with the arms on it that appear to be body mounts. My FF kit does not have that. I see that the factory Ford lower control arm strut rods are not presented. Not quite sure how that gets assembled.

That is astonishing. I know just the guy to buy one, too… if his kid isn’t already too old.

For what it’s worth, I look for the “forum” link when I come across a page. Works most times. Wonder if we could get that button bigger or put something on the front encouraging newbies to find us there.

I suffered from DBS for quite a while riding to and from VA Beach on the stock seat setup last month.Shu’s seat fix is on my long list of things to do.

OK – if you are going to do this do yourself a huge favor and do a search on my fix and I think someone else did a seat fix to avoid DBS – ( dead butt syndrome ) that will happen to you if you sit on that plywood for more then 1/2 hour. Best fix I ever did on my car. I have pictures someplace on the thread as well. Good luck

Well done, sir. “Fergie” is a bit more classy than “Bridget the Midget.”Oh, my. Checking my own website‘s comments I discover that my car’s fake pedigree has drawn the ire of another guy whose car (just might) not be what its badge says it is.

Right, Paul. It’s come up a couple times here.Found a string on the Ford Muscle Forum asking similar questions. There does seem to be some interest in this subject. And since several of the TDs on the forum have been tweaked, I was hoping we might all profit from some ginned-up knowledge.

Your brakes should be more than adequate.
The capability to install the front crossmember at any given height is a definite plus.Changing the springs to a light aftermarket setup will give you the ride quality you’ll enjoy. -
billnparts replied to the topic Building Alfred in the forum My Project 12 years, 9 months ago
Before you go to the trouble to install those springs I recommend the installation of coil overs. These simply replace the factory shocks. #653 or #653A. The original Pinto/Mustang II springs are too tall and way too stiff for the lighter TD.http://aldaneagle.com/shocks.htmlOne other recommendation would be spindles. This is personal preference to…[Read more]

Welcome to the club, Doug. That’s a great story about your father’s old assembly business. You can find a nice selection of appropriate gauges at egauges.com.If you want something a little different I can also recommend my way:Get a stock Beetle speedo and a 5″ tach from Classic Instruments or another maker. The TDs has larger gauges than most kit…[Read more]
