Headroom? Limitless!Seriously though, it varies quite a bit by car. The BCWs, for example, were sold with at least two different windshield heights. By adjusting the top bows (assuming you were making a new top) you could plus or minus at least two inches right over your head. These cars look a little more upright than a B, but that could be…[Read more]

Welcome, Tinker. Don’t mind Pink’s moniker. His name is Mark and he knows what he’s doing and is not a commie, far as I can tell.

Crikies, man! You cut half your own car out of the shot!I had the same damn problem. Too many MGs to fit in the frame. That’s a nice trouble to have.Let’s hope Bill (White MG) and Greg & Debbie (with the cream-colored one) stop by the forum. And oh, yeah, man–those Speedie guys like you! Sorry I blew off the ice cream cruise. I’ll probably never…[Read more]

Yeah, saw that after I posted, Mark. I think those little V8s are hot stuff & in my fantasy life (the life in which I actually have skills in the garage, plus time, plus money) I would build one up stout & stuff it in a Simpson re-bodied Miata Italia & put some funky early ’60s induction on top. Then I’d learn to speak Italian too and cruise it…[Read more]

Ah! Rover motivation. That should work nice. I’ve decided I want to make one of these with an Olds Quad-4 rigged with Weber side drafts and bolted to a T-5. If I ever get it done I’ll take the front wings off & paint George Beavis Special in little cursive letters on the door. Probably never happen though. Got an up-close look at the foot well of…[Read more]

That dosen’t look like any Chevette engine I ever saw before. Sure it’s not one of them rare Corvette-based TD kits?

edward ericson replied to the topic speedometer cable in the forum VW Based Kits 14 years, 5 months ago
What I don’t get is why the bus cables are longer. The way those vehicles are laid out, with the driver basically sitting on top of the front wheel, I’d have thought they’d be, if anything, shorter.Do the buses use the driver’s front wheel to turn the speedo?

I think he means a tie plate, for joining and reinforcing dimensional lumber as used in structural framing.

Look at the names your photos are given by the photo program. Mine get something like DSCN2076.JPGthe “.JPG” is what tells all the machinery what format the photo is saved in. –JPG is JPEG.I suspect the Kodak program is saving your pictures as GIFs or something else. The way to deal with that is to open the photos and click “save as” in the menu…[Read more]

Someone recently said they used a bus cable. Apparently they’re much longer.

Dennis,
They have a coupon for that oil on line now – I think like 50.00 off per case.
A 2.00 off per quart of the part syn oil w/ high zinc just went off sale I think
– I got about a case of the stuff for like 2.95 per quart at Auto Zone.
Google it -

Tex, go to the Carlisle web site to see the deal. At this point you’d wait in line a bit and register as you enter. looks like a similar deal to parking at a sporting event (from my one-time experience). You go in Gate 3, pay for your sticker, and then do what the guys standing in the roads tell you. They’ll direct you to our little covey next to…[Read more]

That’d be the three-bow model. FYI, I’m especially interested in this because i picked up a two-bow frame to try to adapt to my car, when i’ve got spare time. Looks like the seat back needs to be narrowed just a little for that as well.Nothing’s easy.
