Forgot to add: the cars were built in Louisville Ky. and southern Indiana, specifically New Albany.

I.D. solved! This car was built by a group of Shriners, 20 in all who decided to build their own parade cars. One of them was knowlegable about mold making. The others had various other skills. The person that I contacted did most of the welding. Over a 5-6 year history there were 10 cars completed, about 1/2 were VW based and the others were…[Read more]

Dennis Brock replied to the topic wire wheels in the forum VW Parts Wanted 14 years, 6 months ago
Re: wheel adapters, there are basically two kinds. One is a cast, almost like “pot metal”, with those, if you overtorque them the stud will spin in the metal and make it almost impossible to get your wheel off. The other type is stamped metal about 1/4 inch thick. It has studs pressed in. Again, if you overtorque and spin one, you have a prob…[Read more]

A car cover for a MGTD will fit just fine.

Dennis Brock replied to the topic speedometer cable in the forum VW Based Kits 14 years, 6 months ago
I got a complete speedo cable assy from MG Magic. I also repaired my old one to use as a spare. If yours twisted off at the wheel like mine, you can drill out the twisted off cable, shorten the remaining cable by an inch or two and reinsert and crimp the old end back on.

I still haven’t made up my mind for sure. The problem with most of the boat wiper motors is that the shafts are larger diameter than the real thing. You have only about 3/16 of metal to drill through without touching the glass on this frame. If you touch the glass you get to buy a new windshield. I think that you would want to totally dis…[Read more]

Dennis Brock replied to the topic red migi in the forum TD Replicas 14 years, 6 months ago
I think that is what I will do if I do anything. The prices are prohibitive! I think Moss motors wants $370 for the motor alone and that doesn’t count what the arms, linkage and blades cost, and you are still left with disssasembling the windshield frame to run wiring. I belong to a British Sports Car Club, and the TC and TD owners say their wi…[Read more]

The roof uses a real TD 3 bow (53) top. I’m assuming that it is also a real MG top. My friend has three TDs and as soon as I get a nice day I’m going over to do some measuring to verify that. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised when you see the finished product. (if they ever get finished!) Now has a new dash, console as well as som…[Read more]

Actually, it’s a 2.0 liter German Ford enine from a 71 Pinto. This car is an enigma. No one seems to know who built it. Brad, from the MG Magic co. (old owner), says that he hasn’t seen one like it and feels that it might be a prototype. That is the main reason that I posted these pics, to get any help possible in identifying it. These are…[Read more]

My wife and I took ours to be in a St Patricks day parade in Louisville last Sat. Would you believe that the local British Sports Car Club welcomed us as members? It was the first (aprox 100 miles) longish ride that we have taken in it. It is supposed to be in the mid 70s by the end of the week.

Just got my badges. One for each car. They are even better looking than their pictures. Easy buy. Just paypaled the money to the email address, and voila! Many thanks.

Is anyone going to be there with club badges? I’d like to buy one with the mounting bracket. I’ve been too lazy to buy one the right way, and paypal doesn’t work.
