A guy named Jimmy V on the Speedster site writes: “I am selling my 1975 MG Midget if you know of anyone who may be interested. The car is an excellent restored and modified driver. The engine has less than 1000 miles on a complete rebuild including a big valve high compression head with dual 40 Webers. It has a new Moss 5 speed conversion. The…[Read more]

Yeah, Saturday works for me and Sunday kind of doesn’t. That said, it’s always been a vacation day Friday for me to get there—and I suspect you-all too (those who are not retired). So Sunday would just make it a Monday vacation day, seems like.

Well done. But I wonder how it was an inch off to start with. Any clues?

That wheel looks really right. It’s the absolute best one for a TD (next to the Bluemels Brooklands, of course).
No Air & Auto? DANG!

Ric: The important thing to know is that the Ford-based TDrs were made to use the Pinto rear end and rack & pinion setup. To that purpose, the whole car was made substantially (about three inches?) wider than a BCW body—either VW or Chevette-based. The BCW body is very close to the width of an original TD, though the wheels (in any version) sit f…[Read more]

Hot-rodding: it’s a game of inches.
I love that you have exactly zero room to spare.
How do the exhausts fit now, btw?

Man, that’s tight.
I do like that the whole engine is behind the front axles.

edward ericson replied to the topic Is buying a car through a dealer auction still a good value? in the forum General Discussion 7 years, 2 months ago
I don’t understand what the dealer’s purpose is in this scenario. He charges $1,000 to make your bid? Why not just go to the auction and buy the car yourself?

Aluminum underpan is almost done. The driver’s footwell is removable to facilitate access to the pedal set & under the dash.

Yup: it’s all so quick and easy.
This is fun, right?
Here’s me spending 50+ hours making a pedal set. Now all I’ve got to do is cut the whole thing out and weld it back in two inches to the left.
