I have a CMC Ford radiator mount frame that I’m not using. You can have it for the price of shipping. It’s pretty heavy. Send me private message if you want to follow up.

Great idea. I was always forgetting to turn off the turn signals on my 55 pickup.

I have always liked the lines of British sports cars and have owned several. That is why I will like my MG TD lookalike which have British lines but will not have a single piece misdesigned by British metallurgists and will not have a single electrical part made by Lucas, the Prince of Darkness.

I decided to make the dash nearly flush, like on an original MG, so that meant cutting back the flange close to the original lines. After that I went through several versions of templates until I was happy with the lines. Final white one is made from a piece of old fiberglass boat that got cut up.
Here is the same piece getting glassed in place

I want to bond the bottom body pan to the main body, but to finish the mounting points of the steering column I need access to the underside of the dash, so the body is upside down with the floor missing. Also to create an under dash mounting point for my steering column I need to create an inner dash panel, like some other kits have but mine…[Read more]

I mean just the center cluster panel. I have been reverse engineering this from a few web photos. Hoiw about just an outside set of dimensions, like tip to tip width and chord (thickness across middle). I can scale my guesses up or down. I can draw this a few dozen times until it starts to look aesthetically pleasant. I have plenty of patience. I…[Read more]

Does anyone have a drawing or a trace of the TD instrument panel? I want to make my own. The outside outline is all I need. Maybe just basic outside measurements would be a good start.

Gabor Kesseru replied to the topic Other types of seats in your TD replica in the forum General Discussion 12 years, 1 month ago
There’s a thread on here somewhere of a guy using the rear seat from a Firebird. Also, the rear seat back that came out of my Mustang II donor look like they were built for this car. I’m seriously thinking of combining the Mustang II rear seat back with the front bucket lowers. Also has seat sliders. I’ll post photos later, a cold has me down today.

The bucket seat style of belt has a stiff vinyl casing on the short piece that gets bolted to the tunnel. This way it cannot fall down and hide. Your could make something like this for both sides. See the Julianos.com site for the bucket style.

The last thing I am is an originalist, especially with my approach to put in a V6. I’m pondering this because I am trying to think through how I will install the dash, how I will put in the piping, how it will fit, how it will look and how to mount the steering column behind the dash. It all ties together and right now all I have is a fiberglass…[Read more]

I was considering using SS trim strip like this one, probably hammered a little flatter. Better than $280 at Moss Motors.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Steel-6-FT-Molding-J-Channel-Trim-Strips-/380407207764

Gabor Kesseru replied to the topic Lower Arm Strut in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 12 years, 2 months ago
I’ve seen people replace that fixed strut with an adjustable one made from swedged tubes and rod ends. This way it can be adjusted for alignment. Speedway has those too.

Looks like a factory solution that will eventually hurt itself, putting a metal sail in the wind and put it on a long arm with a 90 in it to boot. Bound to vibrate. I’ll have to think about it before I finish the car.
