I had a furnace put in my house recently the furnace people and I got to talking about my car where I told them I wanted to make it a bit less noisy they suggested using the insolation that they used for my ducts .(foil on both sides and thin ) When the job was done I saw they had left a roll of it . Have not used it yet but going to give it a shot .

Dick, Sorry to see you go . I enjoyed talking to you . I believe you told me about Brad Penn oil . I will always use it , I think that it helped my engine to hot problem . Where I live in Western NY There seems to be a lot of buzz as to where to get your antique car inspected . Some places let things pass where others don’t . If I took my LR to a Chevy or Ford dealership there would be lots of problems . If I went to the corner repair shop it would pass . Royal, I have always had trouble posting pictures. Once in awhile I get lucky and manage to post one . It was 4 years ago I bought the tape have no Idea where and its all gone . Lent it to a friend I did the vertical part of radiator,and couldn’t go around corner .

I believe Jay Leno had a U Tube video on spray on chrome . I sent away for chrome tape to do a repair you cant tell which area I repaired

This is what I did and it worked pretty good .Go to an auto parts store (auto zone , nappa , maybe Walmart ) .Buy a clay bar. Follow instruction . After car is clayed then use your favorite wax .

Sometimes when out for a drive I would here a snapping sound . It took awhile but I finally decided it was necks snapping as I went buy .

I had some front end tire rubbing all I did was put a 1 inch spacer on the fender bracket jacked up the fender and tightened . I also saw some spring spacers at Auto Zone not sure if they will work . I wish someone would try them then I would know .

What ever it was probably melted and came out exhaust . If it is a VW with oil screen check the screen . When I first got my car I changed the oil screen ,lots of stuff in the screen . Ran a magnet through it . Some of it stuck . That was 10,000 miles ago , car runs strong . Screen is always clean now when I change the oil .

Rosebud and Bill   I believe you are right . It is hard to believe that I went from this type of car to a 1971 Ford Pinto .

How about a 1964 Pontiac Catalina convertible 3 two barrels that sat above hood .Today it wouldn’t fit in my garage or a 1965 Ford Falcon convertible 289 4 on the floor painted grabber blue complete with hood pins

What is the temp . of the engine . If your over 240 degrees your to    hot . This is what I did I wrapped fuel lines with fuel line insolation put 2 fuel filters in . 1st behind the shroud the second near carb. keeping it away from engine . Never had a problem again .

I’ve had vapor lock problems in the past . What I did was I moved the fuel filter away from the engine . I would think if the gas is boiling your to hot
