The one Paul pictured is like mine, but I’m mounting on top of the bumper under the spare. I don’t have to worry about the rear hatch opening. It should turn out mounted more like what Ed pictured. May end up with a double fold, hinged in the middle. Like everything else on we do on these, completely custom fitted.
December 28, 2015 at 9:24 am #265978If you want a fold up style that sits closer to the bumper and folds up when not in use. This style doesn’t obscure rear view mirror site range. Check into Ford Model A luggage rack.. It will take a little adapting but it’s the look I want. I picked up a used one off ebay for $20. Haven’t got it mounted yet, next project though, if I don’t sell the car first.

May 23, 2015 at 7:24 am #264539Like George said, 40 is not an interstate. It is part of the original “Crossroads of America Highways” where old rt 40 and old 25 met in Vandalia Oh. I70 has replaced 40 E/W and I75 has replaced 25 N/S. Both 40 and 25 are still used, but more for the scenic routes. Max speed in places about 55 but mostly 35 especially thru all the small cities.
May 22, 2015 at 4:12 pm #264533If you guys on the left coast do make the expedition east, Old rt 40 almost passes my house in Dayton Ohio. We could plan a cook out or at least stop in for an adult beverage or 2.
May 22, 2015 at 4:05 pm #264586I vote “T” and can’t wait to hear Bill’s story. Oh and you forgot the cream.
May 20, 2015 at 6:13 pm #264520Looks like everyone had a great time, I missed another great week end. Maybe next year.
May 2, 2015 at 9:35 am #254138Could have been the hair cut.
May 2, 2015 at 9:26 am #261540Correction: My TDr is a Ford not Chevy. CMC came with the cowl brackets when I bought it.
April 13, 2015 at 4:11 pm #261530Allen, Wow!! Those turned out great! I really didn’t do anything but trace the outline, you did the hard part. Hey if anyone’s looking for a Ford TDR wife and I are talking about selling ours. (Gallery 1235) I think.
April 5, 2015 at 9:31 am #263941CMC factory built; 44 3/4 down center 44 1/2 each side
March 23, 2015 at 6:22 pm #263837I don’t know if any car company actually made one. We put together our own and carry to some of the car shows, as a display thing. We use it too when ever we head out for a picnic.
March 17, 2015 at 5:28 pm #2637512.14 in Ohio, suppose to be dropping to under 2.00 next week, if you can believe the news man (how do they know).
March 12, 2015 at 9:51 am #263677That’s the movie my wife and I saw waaay back when we first started dating. Fell in love with each other and TD’s. Said some day we would have one, that’s how we came up with the name for our car “Audrey”. We had forgotten that the car went up in flames and ended up in a pond, until we re-watched it again right after we bought our TDr. Excellent movie though. Would be interesting to find out what actually happened to that TD in the movie.
March 4, 2015 at 6:45 am #263515Mine is behind the dash, left side close to the edge. Easy to reach and out of the way. It only took me about a year to fine out I had high beams. There is a couple other switches under the dash I still don’t know about.
February 22, 2015 at 8:48 am #263288The web site for “Rollin on the River” is http://www.rollinontherivercarshow.com This year it’s July 26.
February 21, 2015 at 11:38 am #263285I haven’t seen this one before. Pretty close to what mine looked like when I bought her about 6 years ago. I’m planning a car show in Cinn in the spring “Rollin on the River” put on by the Kiwanis club. HUGE show we did it a couple years ago, really well laid out. Maybe he will be there if it does’t sell.
February 19, 2015 at 11:21 am #263162I looked up that radiator, It is not like mine. Unfortunately I have no clue what CMC used on my car. It is about the same size, but both top and bottom radiator hoses are on the passengers side on mine.
February 12, 2015 at 12:17 pm #263153Flip that’s the one thing on my car that’s definitely not from the Pinto donor car. So far I haven’t figured out what it’s off of. I had to have it repaired last summer. I wanted to replace it with a better larger or thicker one, mostly because she runs a little warm 200*. Even with the addition of a electric fan.
If I ever have to have it re-cored I’ll go for one thicker I guess, not much room for any thing bigger. It roughly measures 16×16 (kinda tough to get at it right now I had a stainless steel cover made for the top) I think there’s a picture of it in my pic. What really makes mine different than everything I looked at, is the size of the hoses and the fact that both the top and the bottom hoses are on the passengers side. If I remember right all the aluminum high flow replacements, there was no choices for hoses set up like mine. Of course you can always have a custom one made if you got the $$$$$$.
February 10, 2015 at 5:47 pm #263089Gee I’m lucky to remember my sun glasses.
February 4, 2015 at 9:06 am #262770Wow! That’s a awesome garage. 2400 sq ft must make it about 40×60. My plans for one was only 24×36 (no second floor) and I thought that was over what I needed. May have to reconsider, I have a 3 car attached to the house and a 16×20 shed (tractor and yard stuff), and both are full. I’m wanting/needing at least room for wood shop and car shop area w/ lift. All I need is to win the lottery.
February 3, 2015 at 10:13 am #262976That’s gotta be either be the most expensive TDr or a misprint. Cash only $650000
February 3, 2015 at 6:44 am #262517No rides here in Ohio either, car’s just sitting there tempting me every time I go in the garage.
Good luck Tex, I called it quits Nov. 2013, a little over a year ago. No regrets.. When the checks start they come like clockwork though. It only took about 2 months for everything to start. Then there’s always health care cost .
January 30, 2015 at 11:09 am #238602I’m with you there, I’ll stop in to see my agent and get a copy of my actually policy. I can’t fine the one they sent me. I need to probably need to get a new appraisal too, sometime, , with all the changes, extras and stuff I’ve put on under the hood. May have to wait for a little warmer day for the appraisal though.
January 30, 2015 at 10:10 am #238600Paul I finally got around to checking into my insurance with State Farm. Here is a paragraph from the policy. Mine runs about $300 a year for 18,500 (State Farm’s approved appraiser cost me $60) agreed value, Haggerty’s was quite a bit higher when I bought the car 5 or so years ago.
“More Reasons to Choose State Farm”
- Lower insurance premiums since your antique auto or classic car is used on a very limited basis such as exhibitions, club activities or parades.
- When you choose antique or classic car insurance with us, you and State Farm will agree on the value of the car. If the car experiences a total covered loss, we will pay this agreed-upon value, rather than the actual cash value of the car.**
