Hear is what I did,  I wanted to have the convenience of having both the tonneau cover and the soft top together, but that we’re using the same snaps.  Across the back on the body is the male snap, then on the tonneau cover I removed the cap of the snap and pop riveted a male end to the top of the tonneau. Now I can just snap the top to the tonneau cover. I can roll the cover and fold the top and secure with Velcro.

The wife and I won’t be heading out to Borrego till after the Holidays  (grand children you know)  and plan on leaving before mid April  (to hot)  I don’t bring out my MG but it would be fun to get together and talk and see yours.

Nice looking spare tire rack,Clap  could you tell us what material you used and how did you get the headless bolts in the ends and attached?  Where the tire mounts to the rack looks sturdy too!!

    Doug,

Could you give us the address to get the MOS Certificate?  My Ford based Fiberfab MG came with nothing, not even all the parts, even thou the seller said it was all there!  This should help me to title it in Ohio this summer, I hope.:-)

I have two TD’s,  the first on I bought complete and running.  The serial number on the fire wall is FM2410 and that is stamped on a brass plate from FiberFab International.  The second one, is not complete, has no paper work with it and the only numbers I can find is 41-0205.  raised numbers in the floor behind the passengers seat.  Both cars are set up for Pinto, first is 4 cyl auto,  second V6 4 speed.  Second car isn’t titled yet, first cars VIN FM2410.

Is there a magic number (length) that the hood should be?  If you shorted the hood that means that the side panels will have to be shorten too.  Now witch end (front, back, split the diff.) do you take the excess off?  Plus both side panels should be the same length, right?  Doing all this and making sure the hood assembly still fits in the fenders (no adjusting to these).  It sure would have been a lot easier if in the assembly instructions some numbers would have been added, then trial and error wouldn’t have to be used.:?

I thought it was a good buy.  I tried too but didn’t want to get up at 4am to bid any higher.

If your car was a little bit closer I’d get it in a heart beat.  I was wondering if you still had it for sale!  Do you have it stored inside?  I just bought (and building) a TD with a V6 and 4 speed and am putting a lot of money into the car even after the guy I bought it from said it all was there!

Montie,   A template would be good then I don’t have to make all the mistakes getting one to fit, and any directions would be nice.  The original air cleaner just looks bad with half of the bottom and side cut out!!  What kind of header did you look for on ebay?  Does it clear everything on the undersile of the car without any alteration and how was it to connect to the exhaust?   Rob

I was just looking at your pictures of under your hood (and a great looking job you’ve done) and noticed your exhaust header and air cleaner.  I know neither are stock, where did you find them?  I need a air cleaner real bad because I am using the stock air cleaner with some cuts out of it to fit around the linkage.  Nice job on the car.

I might be interested in your wheel baskets.  My baskets are Western Wheel and showing some rust and missing the center plastic cover on two of them, other than that they look good.  What will you be asking for them?

How much fabricating did you have to do on the engine and trany mounts?  You gave me some good ideas, I too hate working on the engine in the that “box”.  It makes getting under the hood so much more easy.

I like what you did to your Dutchess, how did you make the hood and fenders hinge up like that?  I want to do that to my hood and fenders but have not had the time or know how to make the pivot point or where to put it.  Also I see you had to cut the fenders off at the fire wall,  why?  Again, smart idea to put that S 10- 2.2L  and a 5 speed in your TD.  Think about brakes!!!

    Ed,
I the car.  Just how does your hood open?  I have been looking for a way to get my hood to open like the originals without to much fuss.
