According to the GA Dept of Transportation, Moneypenny doesn’t need shoulder restraints. Just was thinking of using them in case but it doesn’t sound like it’d be such a hot idea. I’ll stick with my lap belts. Thanks for the input.

If they have one you can rent, take a black and white photo to make it look like it was back in the 50s. 🙂

Welcome aboard spechols. By the photo of your TDr we have the same red. But yours is buily an d mine is still in the building stage.

I believe I was the one who mentioned that. But I put the blue tarp over the fabric car cover. It worked fine and now Moneypenny is safe and dry inside a greenhouse. But I agree…trailering a vehicle, any vehicle, under a tarp adds a chance to seriously scratch a paint job.

Happy New Year to all as well from Middle Georgia. I hope to have Moneypenny on the road in late spring. New Year’s resolution is to get rid of all the distractions and get the TDr done and on the road.

Found a better solution today while talking with HOA member. He said he’d go to Harbor Freight and get their greenhouse kit. HOA will approve that no problem as there are several in subdivision. So…problem solved. Moneypenny will have a nice home out of elements until garage is built in spring.

Joe. Did you disassemble/remove the fenders before sanding and buffing?

My though was to cut the seatback vertically down the middle and cut the carpet piece the same way. Then have the local auto upholstery shop add back the edging on the cut sides. Okay. I tried a couple of things. Switched the tarp and car cover. Tried the hose. Water on floor pan. Took cover and tarp off and snapped on tonneau cover. Put cover back on and tried hose. I checked the local boat repair shops and parts stores and they don’t sell anything like them either. Unless you buy an entire switch panel. And even then its a crap shoot they’ll have what you need or want.

Sorry to say the answer is yes the body will have to be removed. This is because the floor pans come a standard size and will need to be trimmed to fit the individual VW pan. Each pan is slightly different.
