I agree with Larry. I replaced both fender mirrors with flat. They are totally useless. I wish I had gone with convex on both fenders. I did the same with peep mirrors on both sides. Should have used convex on passenger side. The driver side peep works great. I also installed a dash mirror, which I use mostly.

The VW TD is no longer available. It was sold about a month ago.

No Allen. We went only as far as So. Deerfield, to the Yankee Candle Workshop. Very nice scenic ride going by the backroads. Did Berkshires last year to No. Adams on the Mohauk Trail, another nice ride. Hoping to continue riding into November like last year.

Have been taking advantage of the fine weather we’ve had this past week in New England, taking in the fall foliage. Take a look at “died with my slippers on” under this thread. I posted a problem I had that sounds very similar to yours. Ed. Was the lead that fell off coming off the item shown in the picture I added. I thought it was an electric choke but turns out to be an Idle Cut-off Valve. Just my 2 cents.  After I saw what schu did I decided to give it a try. It worked out great.  Try it, you wont regret it.  If it doesn’t work out for you, you can still add new foam. You shouldn’t have to cut out new seats.

I also have a clear plastic filter and it always had air in it. I also gets a white substance that settles at the bottom of the filter. The last time I change the filter, I cut open the old one and found that the white substance was soft and putty like but not sticky. Yes. I did buy the screw in LED’s.  I should’ve checked with you guys first, and saved myself some money and trouble.  Like I said. Live and Learn.

I changed my brake and turn signal lights to LED’s and the flasher worked the same as with the original bulbs 1156 and 1157. I saw now difference. I thought the LED’s would be brighter for the turn signals. I ended up spending almost a $100 on the LED turn signal bulbs and ended up putting the 1157’s back in because they were brighter. Live and learn.

Had a new muffler put on yesterday. I went with the recommendations of this forum and installed the EMPI 3487. The difference in the noise output was phenomenal (night and day difference) When I first got the FF it had a muffler that looked like it had been brazed on a half dozen times and very loud.
