I would guess that is redundant.
The forum search will find matches in the topic.
I grabbed a recent topic to use as an example, Ed’s post about EZ Pass problems.
The topic is: EZ Pass Toll, Flat Tow Nightmare
In the Tags field, that would be entered as:
EZ, Pass, Toll, Flat, Tow, Nightmare
(remember, each tag must be one word, with tags s…[Read more]

You are correct. Tags help search engines find stuff.
More specifically, tags are a way for a forum to file topics in an organized manner, making it simpler to retrieve those topics in search results when you’re using the forum’s search function.
A tag is one word. If you are entering more than one tag, separate them by commas.
Tags don’t…[Read more]

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic EZ Pass Toll, flat tow nightmare? in the forum General Discussion 9 years ago
First I thought it was because of the “trailer” when your account and tag are for a passenger car. But NJ’s EZPass web site says:
“…the equipment in the lane is designed to identify that your vehicle is pulling a trailer and you will be charged accordingly. However, if you think this will be a regular occurrence, you should call the C…[Read more]

If you are able to clean the tank and it is serviceable, I recommend you seal it with something like POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer.

Gary,
MG Magic only has VW tanks
If you TDr is VW based, buy from one of the VW parts vendors. Just one example, CIP1 sells them for $143.99.
MG Magic wants $168.99 for a VW tank.
If you have a front engine car, I believe you will have a bit of a problem finding a replacement, unless your manufacturer used the donor vehicle tank.

I’ve never trailered. But have seen many friends strap their cars down. Sounds to me like you have it covered Dave.
Strap the rear tires first. Then use the rachet straps on the front beam to tighten her down.

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic shift rod bushing, again in the forum VW Based Kits 9 years ago
Steve, I do not. I have the standard nylon bushing.
Sounds like Dr Ed has diagnosed the reason his bushing went south so quickly. I’m betting he gets more than two years out of the new one.

Hammer down Ed! Those bushings should be lasting more than two years.
You already replaced it…but two years from now, maybe you want to consider one of these:

Ed – This is another instance of “your mileage may vary,” or in this case, your steering column may vary.
Most kit manufacturers supplied a column extension. The back end is flanged to bolt directly to the VW column. The front end has a compatible mount for the VW steering coupler at the steering box.
The CMC extension used a coupler at both ends.

Ed is correct. The seat rails need to be removed. Likely the easiest part of the job.

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Installing pan in the forum General Discussion 9 years, 1 month ago
Scott,
Whether or not you need to remove the body will depend on how much your pans have rusted out. It may be possible that you can cut the necessary pieces from the new pans, or trim the pans to fit what needs to be repaired.
The proper way to replace the pans is to cut out the old pans from the VW chassis and weld the new pans in. I know…[Read more]

Hey Rick,
Thank you for sharing your story. Great tribute to your mom. What is her name?
I’m a few years older than you, ok…ten years. But I share your feelings. My parents also left this earthly bound, dad in February 2014, mom in January 2012. And an orphan is an orphan, regardless of our age.
I’ll be keeping your mom, and you and your fa…[Read more]
