I had a similar problem with shifting. On the top of the transmission there is a grease fitting and an area that needs grease. The only way to get to it is by removing your seat. there should be a panael or hole there. Heck of alot easlier to try before. you tear it down.

Okay we’re getting closer. Repaired hole in manifold readjusted carb. Runs fine for first 15 minutes then stalls at low rpms.(she drops from 1200 rpms to 400 than stalls) Just reordered another coil try that. If that doesn’t work will try idle cutoff valve. this still clicks but when removed its not tight a lot if play in piston. If that doesn’t…[Read more]

I have now figured out the engine is ADR47926P produced between 1970 and 1973. I have a solex 34 pict 3 carb and a Distributer # 0231178009 Z42. I have tuned and replaced coil. I just found out the Idle cut off valve might be faulty and in that process found pin hole in Intake manifold. One would explain Idle and the other would explain…[Read more]

Sorry for your mis-fortune. Any trouble you go through will certainly be worth it. I got mine in October. Have owned or restored other cars in the past. and I’ll tell you right now this is certainly the one I’ve had the most fun with. And its only been 6 months and cold weather. I was going to do some small repairs and clean it up for carlisle,…[Read more]

I’m in an airport in ohio, I’ve found myself busier than I wanted to be right now. But you have to make hay while the sun is shining. My goal is to play this summer so I’m trying to get work out of the way. But quickly on my Blackberry I searched for counter top or table molding and edging. Bunch of responses kicked up. I miss you guys be back…[Read more]

Mine are Heat channels that run up the center channel. Both a right and left. The channelmis located about 6 inches away from the heat exchanger. Flex tube didnt work well to connect because the exchange outlet and the channel are two different sizes. Actually used a fire hose and hose clamps. had too rerun cables and unstick flappers easy job.

I’m not sure what year you have but there are heat channels that run up to just north of the E brake and the air is forced or driven by the natural air flow as you drive. These channels are connected by way of flex pipes and valve or shutter system it is outlined in a vw repair manual. If you email me the year I might have manual and will send you…[Read more]

A grill is what we generally Bar B Que on, up here in the northeast. If I were to mount them on the grill I would imagine the heat would melt the enamel. Thus a ruined badge. The worst that can happen with them on my bar is someone might spill a brown one in thier direction.
Here is one I just found that might fit both bars. might need two. -

I am somewhat disappointed, I was always led to believe “He who dies with the most badges wins” I’ve been actively collecting and actually starting to acuire quite a few. I was thinking of possibly rotating them on my bar(on the car) right now thier displayed behind my bar(in my house) Oh I’m so confused
