Just reading this post. What at the mirrors that attach to the windshield? The ones on the fenders are useless. I would like to remove them and mount mirrors on the windshield. Thnaks.

I have reservations at the Courtyard in Mechanicsburg that I will be cancelling soon (Friday and Saturday nights). If anyone wants the rooms, let me know by Private Message and we can try to make the swap.

Nice job. Did you modify the side panels so they can be removed easily?

As much as I would like to go, I just don’t feel like flat towing the car for 1000 miles. But would love to meet you guys if you ever get to Florida.

Sorry I’m late in responding. February was really busy. My trunk is useful. I put the battery there. I also carpeted it. The trunk is easily accessible by swinging the spare tire to the side. I am pretty sure the factory built my car. My key and light switch work. Although the high/low switch is a little iffy. I did have to do some new wi…[Read more]

What year is your BCW? I have a 1986. Many things you mention in your posts are different on my car. I will check the muffler/cat tomorrow. I have removed the large air cleaner and the piping for the air pump.

Ok, if they sold a front engine kit, then there is some hope that a manual exists somewhere.

Love the responses. The car has been further modified with MGA rear end and front disc brakes, including wire wheels. It was restored at some point in the past. All original parts are included. Would MGA suspension make the car handle more like the Chevette powered car? I do like fiberglass. Yes, the Volvo powered cars, even when origina…[Read more]

Since I have a 1981 Corvette for sale, that is what I recommend. But the 1979-82 Corvette is not a true convertible. The best buy is probably a C4 corvette 1992 or newer with the “new” LT1 engine. Although I am not fond of the design.

Just got around to visiting the site and saw that you have a BCW and were looking for a response. I have a BCW with Chevette running gear. It is a 4 speed. There does not seem to be much information on the BCW Chevette. I have not found any manuals. It may be that all the Chevette models were built by BCW themselves. Whereas the VW models…[Read more]
