It appears some nefarious actor got into our good site and tried to muck things up. Not entirely sure how just yet, still tracking down a few leads. It looks like they got stuck at some point… about when the site wen’t offline. We are (and were) at the latest versions of everything so I’m looking for (a) something entirely new or (b) someone was…[Read more]

Alas, that’s what happens when you don’t pay attention for a weekend. The site was unavailable since, I suspect April 28 at 10:19 AM. That’s most of what I know at this point, but I will be looking further for possible reasons for the outage.
My main goal this morning was to get things up and running again. Which, if this message gets posted, was…[Read more]

Came across this replica for sale. Car has California tags. This thing has roll up windows and a fold down windshield. Doors are hinged at the front. I’ve also never laid eyes on side panels with that louver treatment.

OK so: I’m planning on handing out cruise directions via text or email so you can just hit the link on your phone and open the turn-by-turn navigation. This will require the (free) Google Maps app, which I suppose many of you already have and which I downloaded for the first time onto my iphone a couple weeks ago. Seems to work fine.
I just…[Read more]

billnparts started the topic Another New Seat Modification. in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 2 years, 1 month ago
Well, after years of modifications and finally having a seat that was comfortable for me (6’2″, 235#) the folks at SCCA have decided that all Hillclimb cars have a one piece seat. No hinged back seats allowed. I protested as the seat in the TDr is a fixed 2piece unit. Nope. No good. I have to install a one piece unit. I don’t know if you ever…[Read more]

Yep. They can be shortened, as you discovered. Couple years ago as I finalized my Spyder build I discovered the same issue—the shaft length that had looked perfect in mock-up was, in reality, not quite perfect,
That kit uses a stock Beetle assy. so it was down to cutting the slotted end and re-slotting it for the stock D clamp. Pushed it in a…[Read more]

Booked at the hotel and will be there. I haven’t started my TDr all winter so wish me luck. It’s on the battery tender again so should start with a little nudge or two.
