I once needed a coil. Borrowed it from a fellow VW person. And my voltage regulator (in)famously failed on the way out to Pittsburgh a few years back, but the P.O. had thoughtfully stowed a good one under the passenger seat, so no problemo.

Great article. I love that the Miller (later Miller-Offenhauser) engines were running dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder and boost during the Prohibition Era. Kind of puts into context the 1988 Olds Quad 4, eh?

The previous site’s gallery images are not manageable by the user that posted them.
During the transition to the new site the previous gallery was copied over to the new site so that images within posts would still work. However, the new site manages images differently and the old images have not been migrated to this new system.

Ed’s reasoning that the Brooklands is the reason for Bill’s time improvement is certainly simpler than my suggestions….and the simplest solution is usually the right one.
Maybe Ed meant Occam’s Razor’s edge vs racer’s edge???
