George,Missing the fasteners is not that big a deal – when I rebuilt mine I replaced all the badly rusted bolts etc. ( came in the kit ) w/ stainless steel and nylon lock nuts – you will be glad you did. almost 5 years later and everything looks like new.Check you phone book or internet for local fastener places for bulk prices on SS stuff. Montie,I think those may be the wheels I have on mine – I think I paid about 350.00 to my door at the time.They told me it would fit the 4x 130mm, but it was not so – I had to have a local machinist re-drill my rotors/hubs for 50.00 total. How about a TD challenge on the Auto track – best time once around?

The original German pulleys also work better – they are
designed to sling the oil back into the engine – if you
have a drip back there it is most likely because you are
using a after market pulley and it was not machined
correctly. I had this problem and went back to German NOS
and all was good. It may not look as good, but works.

Great job – I would love to do a Rt 66 trip myself – it is on my bucket list

JC Witnney and others have a stick on heat shield that goes up to about 2000
degrees F that you can stick to your fiberglass between the glass and the
muffler – should help – did mine.

Bring the Ghia and join all the cruises – fun w/ a bunch of like minded folks
– remember most of our rides ( TD’s and speedsters ) are VW based – you
will fit right in w/ the Ghia
