Mentioned a while back that I was having heat issues with my cooling system. Hunkering down at home gave me the perfect opportunity to attempt a solution and I purchased an high performance 2 row aluminum radiator on Ebay. Radiator is for a 1992 to 2000 Honda Civic with automatic transmission. Also bought a 48 inch stainless radiator hose…[Read more]

<Since I’m hunkering mostly at home right now, I have lots of time for projects I’ve been putting off. Grabbed some brake parts cleaner and my wife’s toothbrush recently and went to work detailing the engine compartment. New plug wires, high temperature engine enamel and a few days later this is where it’s at.

Took the big step and replaced original Chevette radiator with a high performance 2 row aluminum. New radiator was listed on EBay as for a 1992 – 2000 Honda Civic EG/DEl Sol/Integra with automatic transmission, including fan for less than 75.00. Also bought a 48 inch stainless steel hose kit and water temperature switch and harness. Didn’t h…[Read more]

This is a topic that worked its way into my e-mail. Soon you will be able to order an electric motor/transmission package complete with assorted mounting points for your special interest car. The package is not much bigger than a present day transmission, which allows you plenty of room to place batteries of your choice. Batteries would add w…[Read more]

Took the Chevette based BCW MG out for a 5o mile round trip and by the time I got home (it was 85 degrees outside) the water temperature was a touch over 230. Id never seen it over 220 before. Inspected system afterwards. Antifreeze level was good but there is a little what looks like corrosion in the corners of the core near the top. No puddles…[Read more]

You wonder what was going through the minds of the original builders on some facets of the build. Maybe he thought by casing the brake line in fiberglass it would be forever protected and never ever a problem. Mine might have been a “Hold my beer. I’ll put that steering shaft in”. Sounds like you had it a lot worse. At least your floo…[Read more]

With the good weather I decided to tackle the parasitic drain on the battery of my 1985 British Coach Works build. After exploring a while I found the horn relay was warm. Pulled the horn and tested it. Bad. Returned from auto parts store with new horn. Decided to pull relay before installing horn. Relay STILL warm after a couple hours with ho…[Read more]

Took advantage of the unusually spring-like February weather to drill a few holes in my dashboard plate. Aligned the headlight, fan and wiper switches all along the bottom and added 2 new big holes for voltage and oil pressure. The radio was replaced last summer.
