That is a great story. It’s great the current generation of ownership cared.

I wouldn’t use washer fluid. Plenty of dedicated chemicals for top end cleaning.
The Ford has an oil seperator at the block at the end of that PCV hose.Make sure that’s clean too. It’s a bear to get at, though. -

Sorry, won’t make that one. Already made work schedule changes for
VA Beach and it’s my turn in the barrel. -

Only have one that’s any good. One reason for the replacement.

Was thinking of Rt. 13 through Maryland and over the bridge/tunnel.
Patti’s bringing the MINI, so Karen could ride there. -

NICE! Carbon! That happens. Wonder if you got a little in your combustion chambers too? It might do to get a half pint of windshield washer fluid in a cup and a very thin hose attached to the bottom of your carb (the disty advance hose works good). Rev her a little and let the motor sip that watery stuff, little by little, for a few minutes.…[Read more]

Bill, (and Paul), map shows 5 1/2 hours from my house on I-95. That’s a long run in Bridget & I know there’s no way I could get Karen to agree to it. I, however, am intrigued by the idea–especially in November, when we could be dealing with weather.I might consider it if I’m in a convoy. What would be your proposed routes?

Winter’ll be here in plenty of time, Bill. Interesting French job with those lights. That’s gotta stream-line the car quite a bit.:-)

edward ericson replied to the topic Cage in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 13 years, 7 months ago
Looks very Jeep-like. To what would you be attaching the tubes? And why not just run a triangular cage with a peak behind your head? That could go inside and be detachable: Two posts behind the driver’s seat welded to the frame and a crossmember, then two more aft of those, at the widest points and as far back (inside) the back-of-the seat area…[Read more]

Added sixty miles today. Running great. Followed by an ice cold Gin & Tonic, which is also running great! My confidence in the car is building too! With all the troubles, I keep waiting for something else to happen. But it’s looking good! Thanks for all the support and help!Somewhere along the line, one of you asked about the new engine. Here’s a…[Read more]

Hi Allen my wife Donna and I will be going. Several from our local VW club will also be going.
Let me know where you want to meet. I may bring my TD if I can get a few things done on her. -

Everything I’m able to do on the Plymouth, I have done. Sadly it’s time to bring her to an expert and fix her with the MC wrench (aka Master Card).I’m thinking about the VA Beach event. It’s a vacation time thing. Not sure I have the days.

Royal replied to the topic Driving The Duchess in the forum General Discussion 13 years, 7 months ago
Paul, I’ve heard of that with Mopars. If that is what it is, there is no amount of tuning with carbs, or timing that will make her run good. Why not take a nice ride in your TD to Va Beach? Bring Schu and Ed. Where the heck is Wobby or does he only check in just before Carlisle?

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Driving The Duchess in the forum General Discussion 13 years, 7 months ago
Everything is fine with the Duchess Bill. Thanks for asking. Can’t say the same for the 65 Plymouth. I’ve received the same suspicion from a good friend who is a retired mechanic and a local guy who has a bunch of old Mopars and a highly recommended auto service business…stretched timing chain or the timing chain has jumped a tooth. Either would…[Read more]

If any of you TD’ers coming up from the deep(er) south want to make a pit stop at my home in New Bern, it’s on the way to Virginia Beach and we could put a couple of couples up for a night or two. Julie and I will probably leave early Sat morning for the 3-1/2 hour ride up. It’s a relatively nice country ride from here (albeit flat) to the a…[Read more]
