If it were me I’d just make a note of it in the paperwork that will eventually go with the car if/when you (or your heirs) ever sell it.

Thanks guys for the helpful input.
I did originally modify the bracket by cutting and bending as the assembly manual indicated. I welded the cut and painted the bracket so the modification doesn’t show much. If unmodified I think the cable would have run into the side of the master cylinder.Yesterday I lubed the cable and it’s much fre… -

Thanks Allen but NC DMV doesn’t care about the engine codes or numbers. They don’t even know what engine is/was in my TD. The chassis serial # is important though (here in NC).

I got ya beat….I’ve got a grassy back yard!
Wish I had a garage. Even a car port would be helpful and the car port is in the planning stages.

Roy,
I guess that would be helpfull. Don’t know about the legality of all that. I do know that when you purchase a new engine case, it comes without any serial numbers. I’d check with your local DMV and see what they say. If anything you could leave the number and make a paper record of the engine to indicate it is a 1600 single port. I do a full… -

I have a 2 car garage, but I am a real neat freak. I lose 2 feet on one side
of the garage for my shelving unit’s, but I can park my London Roadster, Honda CRV
and Honda Civic Hybrid in the garage. All facing forward. -

I’m trying to get back into fishing. I’ve got four rods and reels that all date from, let’s see…the newest one my grandmother got me for my 12th birthday. Seven-foot spinning rod. The reel on that is a Dam Quick 330N from the mid 1970s. The oldest one my father had for maybe 20 years before he gave it to me when I was about 7. It’s a 5.5-foot…[Read more]

Montie, For 16 years Julie and I owned a fly fishing oriented country inn and motel in Roscoe NY, a spit from one of NY’s most famous trout streams. When we sold it, I had accumulated about 300 rods and reels etc. over the years. I am still (10 years later) trying to get rid of many of them. I found that I personally only used about 3 or 4 and…[Read more]

There’s an online Lafer parts supplier in Brazil. You’ll have to run it through Google Translate if you don’t read Brazilian Portuguese, and convert the prices into U.S. dollars:

There’s a place somewhat like this, but not quite so grand, about a mile and a half from our house. I keep meaning to check it out some Saturday, but other things get in the way. For now, there’s room in our two-and-a-half car garage for my wife’s Taurus and my Lafer. The old Ford Ranger has to live on the street out front.
