70 spokes is high.TD aftermarket wheels would have been 48 or 60 spoke.http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29904http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=70300Truespoke is another option. Scott, check my post from 7:15 pm yesterday for a link to a diagram of how your brake distribution/warning switch goes. It’s from the Auto Zone web site, but looks probably right.By the way, you kick ass, build-wise. I am in awe.

Good info, Roy.$2,000–if we can get eight takers. That’s just about way too rich for my blood. At least for now. I have worked out a fitment scheme and a source for 60-spoke Rudge splined kits of five for about $1200 plus shipping. These are painted Dunlaps, made in India, needing tubes, etc. As you said, by the time you’re all done with these…[Read more]

Yeah, venting the fuel tank to the air was SOP until about 1973 or 4.Charcoal canister after that, and then came The Era of Spaghetti Pipes Out Yer Gas Tank, which we are still in. Glad to hear the brake line thing is solved, conceptually.

I checked the fuel lines on my ”factory built ”BCW with the Chevette engine. The vent line runs up the left side of the chassis paralall to the fuel line to a point near the top left side of the radiator. It must have connected to the emmissions system but all the smog stuff had been removed before I got the car.It just sits there beside the r…[Read more]

Sorry to hear that you’re saying goodbye to the Lafer, Allan, but it’s nice of you to let this bunch have first crack at it. My Lafer is also an ’81, and while not in quite as good shape as yours appears to be, it’s a hoot-and-a-half to drive. Very solid factory-built vehicle. Good luck!

Donna,
Odd that the MG Magic kit doesn’t come with instructions. I suggest you check the Download Manuals tab on the left. In there you’ll find assembly manuals. In my CMC/Fiberfab manual (the second section) they have the carpet installation. Not sure which type of TD you have (Migi, Fiberfab, Duchess) but I believe all the assembly manuals ex… -

Here’s a diagram of the brake warning blah blah blah. Looks like you’re about right. Not for sure though. I’s you I’d check to see if fluid put in at D comes out at E, and fluid dropped in B comes out A & F. That’d confirm your suspicion.

newkitman replied to the topic fuel pump in the forum General Discussion 13 years, 2 months ago
Sort of. It’s more if you have a generator the pump stands straight up. If you have an alternator, because the rear end of the alternator is larger diameter, you need the pump that leans (tilts) back to allow room for the alternator. ALSO…the fuel pump shaft for an alternator is about a 1/4 inch shorter. Wrong shaft is not good.
