I’ve got a trickle charger and some distilled water. Pry off your lids and see if your plates are all under water. If not, and usually it’s just one, top ’em up. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

I think you may have gotten a weak, old or bad battery. I’d take it back while it’s still under the best warranty. Most batteries have a pro rated warranty so the longer you wait the more you’ll have to pay. I think within the first year they are almost 100%

Thanks Bill but I really don’t have the money for a prebuilt harness. That’s why I’m looking for spools of wire.

46* sunny and warm enough for me.
Took her out for a short ride, only ’bout 1/2 hour but loved it. First outing for 2012 too. Hot a few
looks but who cares. She purred like a kitten!

Took Scarlett out today. 1st ride in 2012. It is in the low 60s here in the Ozarks with lots of sunshine. She sure was glad to get that winter dust blown off. I sure hope all the other members here get a chance for a ride even if it is a short one.

Wow. $1500! Glad you could get it done. But, man, if the hood on these things is worth $1500 then the whole kit ought to be about $10,000.(Which it was, of course, 30 years ago) (Not adjusted for inflation).Amazing then that more or less complete old kits are floating around on the Bay & Craigslist for a few hunnert. Total business opportunity!…[Read more]

Turns out that 135# is an expected compression reading. Found a major vacuum leak where 1/4 of the carb to intake manifold gasket was missing. I hope to gain more control of engine idle speed (it wanted to idle high) and smoothness when I get it running. So far, it has taken me much longer to clean, straighten, align and install all the tin w…[Read more]
