Ford parts are easy to get too.  Seems like everything I have wanted or needed is available.  Well with the exception of some of the custom stuff I made myself, but those were more of personal prefference (I was too cheap to buy the other one ) 

The “track” is more my speed but I’ll be towing about 1000 miles, so, no promises. 

Ahhhh…polo…no…….auto track sounds like fun.

Fire is always a worry with VWs, and especially with plastic ones. Check your stuff often, particularly where the fuel line comes through the tin (there’s supposed to be a grommet there, but there’s probably not, so use a bit of neoprene fule line).I moved my fuel filter out of the engine bay last year, but might put it back next year. Yes, Carlisle’s “track” is a very short autocross track set up on an “out and back” paved track on the edge of Carlisle’s property. Basically two parallel paved sections, on which they st up cones to make a couple chicanes, a short slalom.Definitely handling over power.VW guys, get into second and just leave it there.

Schu, is their “Auto track” a simple oval speed type, or is it an obstacle type course with pylons etc that stress handling (ala autocross)?  Either way, sounds less risky than auto polo.

Parts for the chevette are harder to find than VW. The VW versions are
more practical for a person like me
And a V8 has no similiarty to the orginal TD. Imho
